About Me

Helping my brother in law find a safe place to live until my sister can transfer her job and move there to live. He has lived in the USA since he was three days old! He received damage to his brain when he was 19 and and has had seizures off and on for many years. My sister met him 14 years ago and they fell in love and were married. What we did not know is when he was 20 he woke up in a strange home by the police and they charged him with breaking and entering. After he went to jail they wanted to collect fines but he had NO money...so they deported him. Back then it was easy to walk back across the border....since this time he has suffered an aneurysm and had brain surgery in 2010. Some how INS found out where they lived and picked him up three weeks ago. We are searching for a safe place for him to live ASAP. Any help would be appreciated!!! He is a hard worker and needs to have brain surgery for an AVM he was born with. We are in hopes he can have this surgery done in TJ but my sister needs to transfer her job and find a place in TJ that is safe and secure to live. They don't make much money and now that he is somewhere he can work above board he is getting lucky at making 10 pesos a day! He has amazing skills and is a hard worker. His work ethic, although he has always had to work under the table because his mother chose to have her children in Mexico all those years ago, deserves to live in the USA. He will probably never get to come back here but maybe in time and telling his story enough someone will listen up and try to help us. He was a victim of circumstance. His mother only came to TJ to give birth to all 6 of her children because she didn't trust american doc's. His father worked for the union and had medical. His mother and father lived in the USA since the 40's. My brother in law was beaten in the head and received brain damage! This is NOT a case of jumping the border to live the american dream and then broke the law and became deported...he was a victim and ended up with a divorced mother and an abusive father! This is a sad story and needs to actually be a movie! I have only given a few details...more than anything we need a safe place for them to live! They are wonderful people that know nothing about TJ except the rumors they have heard! Please help anyway you can!!!

I have stayed at the Lucerna for about a week once and it was very nice! We had a cabana right next to the pool! They hooked us up! It is NOT a place affordable to stay long term. I would like to find a place to stay long term that has a decent price for the month! It needs a small fridge and maybe a hot plate?

I don't need an attorney, just someone who knows what the requirement is for a citizen of Mexico to work. Is the postal ID enough? Is there any other forms of ID needed? He doesn't know who to trust. It is bad enough they consider him a Gringo/outsider because he is tall and pale skin color (for now)! As far as rent amounts it would be nice if we could keep it around $300 so they are able to save money so my sister can make the move there. They have a vehicle so they need to be able to park it in a decent area...I know that theft is high over there! Thank you so much for your input. Maybe someone will read this that knows someone that is a citizen of Mexico and knows the answer. I had NO idea this was a site for Americans.
