American Consulate TJ

16 March 2010 - 01:38 PM

Good morning - I've been reading about the consulate workers killed and the resulting closing of certain consulate offices until April. Anyone know if TJ office is doing business as usual?
Thanks -

Earthquake!

01 February 2010 - 03:09 PM

Hello all - I was sitting here in my comfy chair, online, when I felt like something very big was trying to get out from under it ... strange - didn't last too long - checked online and saw that indeed, a 5.0 - 6.0 quake SW Rosarito Beach. Eerie ...

Horrific animal abuse on beach in Rosarito

14 September 2009 - 01:52 PM

Late Saturday afternoon Rosarito police were called by a concerned citizen who witnessed an extreme case of animal abuse on the beach. The animal was a pit bull - obviously a "fighting" dog who was being strength-tolerance "trained." The dog tired and the owner got mad - mad enough that he ripped out the dog's tongue.

The dog is being cared for by an experienced and well-known MVZ. Amazingly, the dog is doing quite well. He is a massive and gorgeous boy dog whose real personality is sweet - he's loves to be petted and scratched. He will have to learn to "suck" his water, but he's already trying and everyone involved is very hopeful.

It is my understanding that even though there are animal abuse laws here in MX, they are rarely enforced. The person involved will be prosecuted - likely the first.

Just please all you dog lovers out there - don't let this get shoved under the carpet - spread the word - animal abuse will not be tolerated.

A good hair salon

11 September 2009 - 11:45 AM

Just a little FYI -
I'm pretty hard-to-please when it comes to getting my hair done - whether it be color, cut or whatever. As such, I spent over a year debating whether or not to try one of the many hair salons here in Rosarito. As so often happens, I saw someone whose hair color I liked so I asked her where she had it done. "Magenta," she said.

So, yesterday, with lots of trepidation, I had my hair cut, lowlighted and highlighted (it's long) and styled by Sandra at Magenta. She did a wonderful job and it was only $50 total. That's incredible. The same work would cost $100+ in the states.

So, I am happy to give them a recommendation. They are located right next to That's Amore on Benito Juarez Blvd.
