Here is a club that transforms itself every few years to being freshness to the TJ dance club soon. This was the club Zool a few yuears back and now it looks like an ancient civilization turned danceclub.

http://www.balakdisco.com

It is located right across the border right next to the Pueblo Amigo and is a high energy dance club that plays all kinds of music. Cover varies and can be 10 to 20 dollars a night. They do have special no cover charges for ladies if you get there before a certian hour.

There are normally more women than men and come dressed to impress as this is one of TJ's upscale dance clubs.

Feel free to post your experiences at Balak here

I've been there, must admit there were ALOT of beautiful women, it could rival any US dance club and actually are a lot better than many I've been too and I've been to a few. Not sure but I heard the cover charge was supposed to cover an open bar. But I also heard that TJ was cracking down on this open bar policy because they didn't want young kids to think of TJ as a 24 hour cantina. Can anyone confirm if the open bar policy still exist with the cover charge? SDC if you're going, give me a call and count me.

Well I did it...Finally went to Balak after living 3 blocks away for over 2 years. We went on a Saturday night Open bar $20 for guys free for girls... It was nice inside, the dance floor could have been bigger and there could have been better service. but over all it is a nice change for the norm. The DJ was pretty questionable too...I truly believe now that no matter where you go in Mexico, you will hear banda....

Laughing so hard my side hurts! I have been here once it was decent but I didn't care for the music. Crowd was very cliquish. I prefer the Norteno scene myself. But lots of decent looking girls here.

The place is open Friday and Saturday only...occasionally will have holiday special nights like Halloween, etc. I am sure they would be open on New Year's Eve when it doesn't fall on a weekend.

Balak, Hoity Toity and clickish???? What did you go alone or something...

Personally, I didn't find it to be that nice on the inside it was dark and had the vague feel of a Revo. Club...But the bathrooms were nicer....Not really my sense but the open bar saturdays called my name and was well worth the 20 dollar cover for men...

But personally I'd rather send my time in Zokalo if I was to go to a club....
