Okay...let me start with my first job was with TGI Friday's when they first expanded from their home in Atlanta and opened a restaurant in Tampa. Their menus at first looked like school compostion books and my job was to stick stars next to items on the menu. Yeah, I know...but I had never had a job. LOL

After a long time of not going to Friday's, my daughter and I decided to go last night. We were up in San Diego but I HATE finding anything off the 163 freeway...actually any freeway exit up their drives me nuts. Then I remembered the one over my Cheripan. Why pull my hair out looking for the way to get to the one in San Diego since we were heading back across the border.

I will never never never ever eat at Friday's again. In retrospect, it must have been the salad dressing on the buffalo chicken salad because that was the only thing I ate that my daughter didn't. Let's talk food poisoning here. Doubled over, crying pain. Would have done to the hospital had it not been for not knowing my new neighbors and my roommate wasn't home. I have never ever ever had pain like that before. I will leave the rest to the imagination. But it went on from 8:00 last night to sometime well after midnight.

Ouch that sucks. After a while I've gotten used to Montezuma's revenge but that sounded like Montezuma's genocide!

I recommend against TGIF's next to Cinemark only because their portions are scrappy. That's the one saving grace with the place stateside - they figure their food sucks so bad, might as well dump you with a lot of it. In TJ, the food sucks and there's not much of it.

Let me just say this....TGIF SUCKS...Always has always will they don't even have drink specials....I mean let's get with the program here. You can't service crappy food AND have high priced drinks!

I have no idea how this place stays in business...

I always enjoyed TGIF and the atmosphere. Yes the drink prices are on the high side. The TJ TGIF is a bit higher priced that I expected but the food was excelent and the drinks were de-lilly smile.gif
I have eaten here in TJ 3 times and will go back.... who's coming with me?

It's been a while but this is a nice place to take a date and then the movies up the street. She had the costillas and I had a boring hamburger but he did cook it exactly how I like it well well done. I made sure the waiter knew what I was talking about and I was shocked when it was exactly the way i like it. They have a huge menu of drinks and we sampled quite a bit. be prepared for a little sticker shock but a good time and good food.

She had the costillas

Ahh dude, the ribs from here are super good. This type of place reminds me of Chili's or Applebees. I know TJ now has an Applebees, but does it have a Chili's?

Did they put an Applebees at the Wal-Mart plaza on Insurgentes? They are putting one in with the new Wal-Mart in Rosarito. On a side note heard they will be building a second Wal-Mart in TJ near the Hipodromo...

I have eaten at TGIFriday's on Sanchez Taboada and it's very tasty. I absolutely LOVE the chicken quesadillas under the appetiser section. They're huge! Unlike the American TGIFriday's, the quesadillas come with bacon and twice the cheese.

I was absolutely stuffed after ordering two.

I've eatent here a couple of times in TJ and I think the food sucks there. I've eaten a couple of times in the US and thought the food was better.

My business partner has an office nearby and I have eaten there several times lately. My experience has been that the food and the service was excellent. A few days ago we took a large crowd of folks from the US, Canada and Mexico to TGIFriday's for lunch and the folks there made it a great event. I actually spoke with the manager afterwards to thank them we all had such a great time.

Maybe it was just your timing???

I have eaten there maybe eight or ten times, always at the bar area, never in the restaurant area.

Food's been consistently good although I've never come across bartenders who speak English. At least they understand "vodka martini."

I know that they have some waiters/waitresses that speak English. Just a better reason to learn Spanish!
