Thought this topic might be overdue.

Well, Padres get to play baseball in October; for how long though is always the question with them. ( Been following them for many years with only a few bright spots. sad.gif )

Chargers are on Ch. 8 CBS? at 10 AM this morning.

And M. Schumacher managed to pull of another win in China (Formula One Gran Prix).

Well that was an ugly, ugly loss; hope the Padres do better.

Thought this would be a separate topic and not under the Toros topic, but just sports topic. Any help? Thanks.

(Chiquito)
En Tijuana generalamente el partido es los padres contra los madres, nadie gana.

HA Ha ha that is sooooo true! At least until time to make up then the padres always win!

The ESPN coverage of the Padres playoffs with Cardinals is being broadcast on Ch. 6 Fox right now; just starting.

Hopefully it will that way for the rest of the games. Haven't seen a Padres game on TV all season.

Yes TALENT! Jake Peavy, Chris Young, Adrian Gonzalez, Khalil Greene, Heath Bell, Trevor Hoffman and so on...

Sure, they only selected one All star but you guys gotta remember that the MLB/ESPN/The Media concentrates a lot on East Coast Teams...whether their good or bad...

6 players doesn't make a team..and Greene would be a back up on any other team...batting like .230...Hoffamn is over the hill...Young, broken face...So basically I agree with you Peavy and Gonzalez are good...thats it...

Co-sign.

I like Green, but he is an underachiever at this stage of his career.
Hoffman is no longer considered a top closer and some fans hold their breath when he comes out.  His fastball is so slow, it makes his changeup much less effective.

Until the Padres step up and go for some free agents they will always be a 2nd or 3rd rate team. Heck even the brewers and Tampa bay are spending money.

The Padres had their chance a few years back but decided to go with home grown talent and a few lucky trades (Gonzalez)
Giles is over the hill and a good 2nd hitter but forget his power. Green is Rey Ordenez all over again a great fielder but can't seem to get over .230. Hoffman is very inconsistent and 76 years old.
Their pitching is their strong point and when the number 1 and 2 guys are down forget it.

PM Sent.

SDC hopefully I am not the other guy. sad.gif

And what's this I can't wait till football season? The chargers at best will be a 9-7 team this year. Rivers has a target on his back and LT is done for and they got rid of their 2nd best RB as well.
And besides Limp along gates who's going to catch the ball?

I'd rather watch the 70's San Diego Clippers smile.gif

No you weren't the other guy, George. It was another other guy.

I agree, the Chargers are going to be mediocre again this year. sad.gif

Watch it buddy, my Chargers are going all the way this year...it's do or die this time this is teh LT's last chance..My prediction is that they will either when the Superbowl or LT will have a career ending injury....

As for questionable sorts it wasn't talking about you...but the league is more than just two people...I will see what I can do...
