Each year the Ensenada winemakers association host their "Fiestas de la Vendimia" - a 3 week series of events that highlight the food, culture and of course, the wines of all of the Ensenada valleys.

I was able to get my hands on the still unpublished and therefore tentative schedule for this year's events.
If you are interested in attending any of this year's events, act promptly because once the schedule is released to the general public, hotels fill up pretty quick.

I will post the definitive schedule as soon as it is released.

Hotels are usualy sold out well in advance. It may be tough to get rooms for the weekends right now, if my experience there in 2002 was any indicator.

Not only that, but the reservations for Monte Xanic, Chateau Camou and others' weekend events sell out well in advance. I only got into Chateau Camou for the final weekend event because I knew someone. Listening to the Romeros under a cloudless sky and a full moon was quite the thing. They had La Tertulia cater the food.

Haven't a clue about this year and my friend works for someone else. So, I will pass. Of course, if you like paella, then make a day trip out of that. I think this is the same place where it took place when I attended - under very old and large olive trees. This event also sells out quickly.
