How about you buy some seafood, cook everything up and my gf and I will come over and we can have ourselves a buffet. biggrin.gif

But the closely I've seen to a seafood buffet is Ocean City on Sanchez Toaboada. $7 all you can eat chinese food, the best i've had in TJ. Seafood portion consist of crab soup (too sweet), fried shrimp and crab legs, mussels (a lot of mussels mMMM), fried fish fillets, and fish balls. Try it out.

You heard it from Ryu first, according to my source regarding food in Tijuana, the Camino Real Hotel in Paseo del los Heros is supposed to have a seafood buffet, I believe on Fridays, have not checked it out yet. They also have different buffets every day of the week, Argentinian, Italian, etc. Not sure about price but will report back when I've tried it out. Thanks to tjnero for the info.

Hey Ryu come over when ever you want....

The SDC and Ryu Buffet Scenerio:

So my GF and I come over. SDC and hig girl greets us. He offers me a beer (he's considerate like that) anyways, the usual, Great.

The conversation:

My question: So what type of seafood do you have for the buffet.

SDC: Tuna!

Me: Great, I love tuna. We can bake some up and if there's some good parts, make some Japanese rice and also have a sushi buffet!

SDC: Hmmm.....

Me: Hey SDC, what's with all the can's? And where's the fish?

They do but you have to dig for it. Half the time though you get the girly fish and end up wasting your time. But it's great when you do find it laugh.gif

Actually, they're balls made of fish meat. Also can be made of squid or pork. Usually fried or boiled in soup. Can be purchased 5 or 6 on a stick for $1 in HK on the streets all hours of the day.

I just went to Azulejos this past Sunday morning for the Sunday Brunch...

Azulejos
Interior Hotel Camino Real,
Paseo de Los Héroes No. 10305

Ph. (664) 633-4000
website: www.caminoreal.com/tijuana
Mon.-Sat. 7:00 a.m. a 12:00 a.m.
Sun. 7:00 a.m. a 11:00 p.m.
V, MC, AE

The food was excellent... they had one station dedicated to salads and seafood, the salads included a spinach, strawberry, and goat cheese... traditional caesar... an Italian antipasta... ceviche, a tasty smoked octopus and pepper and a carpaccio and melon tray... oh, and these little bacon wrapped plums that were like a food orgasm.

There was a full pancake bar, omelette bar, crepe bar, and a taco and fresh tortilla station.

In addition, they had various prepared dishes like Birria de chivo, arroz con platano, lasagna al forno, medallions of pork in a chipotle sauce, tamales in hoja de platano... really too many things to name... plus I didn't get to try everything... there was just too much to sample.

Not to mention the deserts... all types of pies, cakes and flans...

I have to make another trip to sample the other half of the menu we didn't get to...

The ambience is bright and airy, they have a live band playing and the waiters are very attentive.

The cost for two of us was $37.00USD plus tip (I think it was $197 pesos each)...

I recommend trying this place out...

Ryu, the Sunday version wasn't really a "seafood buffet" per se, but they did have a seafood station... Sorry I didn't find out what day the "seafood buffet" happens.

Great description on the food and restaurants though, thanks. If you guys are free, let go together in about two weeks time.

The carpaccio and melon tray was beef... but I did notice they had a smoked salmon and capers tray... just didn't have room on my plate or in my tummy...

They also had all-you-could-drink champagne and about six different varieties of agua fresca... I made mimosas... biggrin.gif

I'd be up for another go around at this place... like I said, I think I only sampled half of what they had.

Yes... SDC... I was surprised too... normally at Champagne Brunches the wait staff serve the champagne and is therefore limited. At Azulejos, the champagne is near the agua frescas and is on ice and it too is "serve yourself". When we were there, they had about 5 bottles on ice and were changing them out very rapidly.
