(But I do eat a can of tuna sometimes and like tuna salad sandwiches with lots of mayo, and celery, salt, peper and lemon juice.)
Where's the meat and potatoes?
mmm.... a great big baked potato and filet mignon or prime rib?
asparagus too?
getting hungry now........

Yes, I noticed that too ... I want to say its Cheripan which also has locations by the Grand Hotel (at least the logo looked like it). Too bad - I really liked that Cien Anos.

A group of Three older occasional US tourist types, ordered three separate beef dishes, and the could hardly finish one plate they tried to devour jointly.
Nice atmosphere. It was previously occupied by the California Restaurant, which has moved elsewhere. The California Restaurant is a kind of slightly superior Sir George's type all you can eat buffet. ( I still thinkl of those food workers that wear a face mask but would rather have it dangling from their neck, rather than wearing it in the manner for which it was intended.

And for the guy asking about Angus Steakhouse on a different topic, the only Angus I know of is Stuart Anderson's Black Angus Steakhouses in San Diego; don't know if they have one in TJ if that was the ad you saw or a different totally Mexican place.
Stuart Anderson's is a chain but very good; Morton's and Donvans are better. And Bulley's are not to be left out either. All in San Diego tho as far as I know.
Ronin, what kinda' prices??? Thanks again.
Other happenings near Pueblo Amigo too; on Tuesdays I had been noticing the Ley parking lot was really full and noticed young ladies walking north, so a couple of weeks ago I followed the perfume to Senor Frog's.
I feigned going into the restaurant, empty, and spotted a young manager that I knew and talked with from prior Bloggers meetings there and meeting friends there, as he was checking IDs, admission?, whatever and he just waived me by up the stairs on the side of the building.
There were 200 girls and maybe 100 guys dancing, drinking, etc. and the beer was free except for a tip til 7 or 8; wasn't watching. I think the admission charge is $15 normally; not sure; didn't ask when I got waived by and headed up the stairs.
Meant to post this info sooner and probably belongs under another topic but any true Blogger will find it...

I am not very religious but can't see why some people use religious names to make a point like I have seen some people here do; so I am favor of refraining from any sort of cursing on this blog.
After all, did Abe Lincoln, Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Einstein, etc. have to resort to cursing to make a point? Of course not!

I've heard the word shit before and it doesn't really bother me (sure I've used it myself) but... thought it a bit strange that "the.ronin" used "filete mignon" and "shit" in the same sentence.

Is this the small side restaurant that has a live band on the weekends? I think they have Salsa dancing as well. I always walk past this place and will now try it on your recommendation!
thanks

Richsinc - I don't particularly care for the work "s**t" either but you seem a bit hypocrital to become a critic in the posts of others in that regard. Reading through some of your posts here on this blog I found you can have a rather nasty/acidic side yourself at times.
Blogs become very boring when someone decides to make themself the literary/content cop. Give it a break and just let folks express themselves. If you don't like it just skip to the next post or topic or if you are really hot and bothered, just click on that little "x" in the upper right corner.

Gypsies is right across from the Agua Caliente entrance in the Puebla Amigo plaza between Senor Frongs and Pueblo Amigo. Friday nights they have Flamenco which is very very cool.
TJD, no it's nothing like losing one's shit. More like one of your beloved spirit circles on steroids.
Rich, generally $50-60 for you and your guest incl drinks + tip. Last time, we both had a main dish, shared an appetizer and a jug of sangria and it was just about 60.

I've only been to gypsies once and had there paella. Needless to say, I was less than impressed and have not been back since. Maybe I will give them another try.

I remember you telling me that JD way back when ... I actually avoided the place because of that. Do give em another try. Evidently they have changed chefs and I would also think new management. New menus, new dishes, etc. Although I was never a big fan of the paella there.
