They speak enough English as needed. The shop is small & messy, but have done fine work for me.
He business card mentions home service which I never asked about.
Occassionally one will see another brother there who has down syndrome being babysitted.

He rebuilt my alternator for less than $60 (a common TJ price for this).
Repaired my power window switch for less than $20.
Also my hi-lo beems, flashers, signals, etc. were all distorted which he spent a lot of hours for only $30.
He even drove me home since when my van wasn't finished at the end of the day.
Juan certainly seems reasonable and pretty honest.
People like that deserve referrals.

One of the best automotive electric repair shops in town is Commercializadora JAPEMA, located downtown on Callejon Quintana Roo #1834. It's a wide alley that runs between 9th and 10th. The father & son owners are very professional. Phone 684-91-43.

Commercializadora JAPEMA I actually took my car to this place a while back and they did really good electronical work on the car. Didn't have a problem with them at all.

Great place for car repair is up in the hills by Fundadores past the antennas. Take Revolucion to where it turns into Fundadores and go up Avenida Television. Keep going up that hill past the antennas and crapload of speedbumps and make a left just after the TV station. Keep going down that street (you'll pass a Pemex on your left side) and when you get to the end of it there'll be a llantera and usually a taco stand, make a left. On the right side just a few meters will be the car repair place and a parts shop right next to it. Good guys that do honest, very inexpensive work. Got an oil change, transmission fluid replacement, and fixed a whacked out air intake for like 12 bucks. Not including price of fluids though.
