I guess the reason most people ask the questions they do about getting around in TJ, finding places to stay, rentals, and all that is because it is good to talk to people that already live there. It is also good to just explore on your own, which I am inclined to do, but I like information to go with. I see the world as connected, people are connected to each other.
When you are single woman traveling it is very good to have information when traveling new waters. Peace

Mmmm.....

I got kicked out of kindergarten for "not playing well with others" and high school for being "too idependent"; used to throw my sleeping bag and shaving kit in my car and just drive around Europe............

It's always good to be sociable and get all the info you can before you venture out; it's called being smart as in intelligence as opposed to just being dumb independent. (Did I mention I had quide books, maps. hostel addresses, spare gerry cans of gas, food, etc on my travels?)

Some people here may be inclined to escort you aound and talk to the other Ladies that live here too and get their impressions.

Gawd sometimes I am such a reactionary woman! Working on that. peacefulness. And you have a wonderful gift to make people laugh, even at themselves. Bless you. May I embarrass myself more and say I read something like" why do people always ask this" and as I pressed submit I realized it was a signature. good grief.

"Que pasa?", usually means "What's up?". But "Que" also translates as "That" and "Pasa" also means "Raisin". So "Que pasa?" could be translated to mean "That raisin?". Now it's not funny anymore.

There are about half a dozen "hotels" in playas and of the four "hotels" that I've stayed at I could only slightly recommend two of them. Hacienda del Mar which is located just East of the bullring on paseo playas. The other one is called Jardines del Sol and it's roughly 1km South of the bullring on paseo playas. Both are $30 - 40 per night for a single depending on who's working the front desk when you check in. Not sure what the long term rates would be but you might be able to negociate for $150/week at Jardines del Sol which is farther off the beaten path but more quiet and cleaner.

Here's a link to Haciena del Mar:

Hotel Serena is in the north Rosarito Beach area.

They have 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartment style suites on the beach.

On the BEACH!

2 pools

1 bedroom units $68
2 bedroom without kitchen $68
2 bedroom with kitchen $89 (I think)
3 bedroom units $159 (I think)
