Have one of the worst ever right now, can't look at the screen for more than 30 seconds or so without taking a break. Have taken naproxen, tramadol, nothing is helping Pain centered behind right eye (which won't focus) and spreads from the sinus cavities down into the teeth. Any suggestions? Have been to several doctors to no avail. Am lying down in a dark room with very very quiet music..

I feel yer pain . . .. I think.
You didn't mention ibuprofen. It's always worked the best for my headaches.
The 99 cent stores usually have some in 200mg, while TJ farmacias sell them up to 800mg doses (maybe more) with a script. 8)

Had one the other night. First took 1200 mg ibuprofen (six 200 mg), no effect. Then 100 mg of Tramadol 2 hours later, no effect. Thought my head was exploding. Took myself to the emrgency room at 3 AM. They gave me a shot of something, a lysine tablet (amino acid, why?), and prescribed sertilina (zoloft), an antidepressent which supposedly can help prevent migraines. Got a very slight relief and was able to sleep.

Two nights ago had one even worse. Didn't have money to go to hospital again. Contemplated suicide but instead took 30 mg of Midazolam (Dormicum/Versed) which does nothing for pain but puts one to sleep pretty fast.

Migraines suck.

Holy crap man! I know you posted this like 3 years ago, but for what it's worth you should get on a preventative medication called Topamax. My wife has severe migraines as well and we buy this stuff from Gusher or Av. Revolucion Pharmacies. 25-50mg once per day does the trick and keeps them at bay for my wife.

He's not with us anymore. He left about six months ago....

I wish I saw that post. I do take regular shots - demerol and something else. It really works wonders for my migraines.

He did say he was leaving and wasn't coming back.. about three or four months ago. I don't know, I liked him... he didn't give an explanation. Just up and left.

Here I am popping back in after a few years. After the starter post here I was correctly diagnosed with Cluster Headaches. They have some similarities to migraines and some very distinct differences. They are also treated quite differently. I have not had a relapse since I was diagnosed so don't know it the medications will be effective. Have them waiting for the day. A surgery on my stomach 2 years ago has ruled out NSAIDs like ibuprofen, naproxen, et cetera, forever. I am currently undergoing diagnostic testing for something that may be much more of a bummer, c'est la vie.
