... costs? ...comparable to the USA? Targeted at US customers the fed up with the rip-off US health care costs? ...that considering the economy of Tijuana and the average wage...that hospital looks like a pretty top notch facility to me.. I would suggest even a lot nicer than you would find here in Canada.

I am not sure what this would have run me here at home but in the beginning of July my Dr. down there felt something on my thyroid gland so she sent me off for blood tests and an ultrasound.

The cost for the ultrasound and blood test were just $123.00 and all the results were back so quickly that by the time the ultrasound was complete the blood tests results were in my hand.

I had an additional blood test done in the US when I got back and it took a week to get the results.

God, I'm so glad I moved out of the States over fifteen years ago. Here in Spain, the State pays all of my medical bills and a large share of whatever I spend on medicine.

My friend just came back from here.
The receptionist would be better off working for a US goverment job. She was no help over the phone. 2 hang ups and the 3rd time she couldnt get the lady to name the right doctor she needed.
My friend was frustrated as this is supposed to be the best hospitcal in TJ but after a few calls she Actually found a friend that knew a doctor that worked in Angeles and she made an apointment for 4pm.
She went to an Ear thoat and head Specialist and everything including x rays and follow up visit was $ 150.00.
Tijuana is much more than Revolution ave

Hi TJDave,

Interested in having my boyfriend do some laboratory work there, but like others got the run-around. Basically he is looking for specific male tests (laboratory analysis work to be done)...any GOOD phone numbers that I can call without run-arounds?

Thanks in advance,

elisa_in_tijuana

Your best bet is to go to a specific fertility doc... I would say that Angeles Hospital is very good, but they are just the hospital... What type of labwork does he need done? I am very familiar with the clinical lab.

I saw your other post about fertility, so I am assuming that is the area of study he needs... even for males, you should both try going to the same doctor... that way they can diagnose you as a couple not individually.

A friend of my wife's just had a baby about 6 months ago. She and her husband went to TJ to get the treatment and help they needed to get pregnant... I'll find out the name and number and post it in a few days...

I would really appreciate the contact info/phone number of the doctor your wife's friend seen. You are right, about both of us being tested, it would make more sense having it all done by one doctor.

I'll be on the look-out for your posting.

Thanks again TJDave,

I went this hospital on monday to see Dr Jimenez ENT for a ear problem. Kaizer in Riverside consistantly dropped the ball when diagnosing and treating this. Dr Jimenez was VERY thorough and treated me on the spot with a pretty agressive approach. Its been 24 hrs and Im already feeling better. The hospital is wonderful. I would have NO problem staying there long term. All in all, my medical treatment in Mexico has been awesome. Too bad I cant use my particular US insurance here. For what I pay in medical insurance in the US, it would pay for all my medical, dental, rent and food here in Playas.
Highly recommend this hospital.

I visited a friend at this hospital a few years ago. I walked in right off the street to her her room on an upper floor and no one stopped me ohmy.gif Other than that it looked like a very nice place. They would not let my friend leave until she paid for her hospital bill 100%, she had no insurance.

I have heard if a hospital does have security , its to keep gringos from skippin out on their bills.

The hospital indeed gave Tijuana residents lots of medical benefits. It saved them from traveling to faraway hospitals just to get medical attention. About the issue of security, I really think that the management should do something for the safety of their patients. Indianapolis Plastic Surgery
