I got sent to secondary for three months, and if I hadn't filed a TRIP Report to TSA about it, I'd still be getting sent there. The whole problem is my income, and when I first applied, the very "young" officer (probably 40 years younger than me) apparently made the decision on his own that I was a smuggling risk, which is why I was going to secondary. I also posted the fact that I wasn't getting sent anymore in the thread that I started entitled, "Secondary." If I go anymore, it'll just be random.
At the SY Sentri office, there are only 3-4 officers doing interviews, a receptionist at an outside check in window, and two people that process renewals and payments. It's a much more relaxed atmosphere, no supervisors, and the officers joke around with each other. This officer was able to take his time interviewing me, and I explained to him about my part-time jobs being seasonal, and that it starts getting busy again in May, plus the fact that it's impossible to get full time work. My income is below the poverty level, and my monthly expenses were more than my monthly income, so the first officer didn't bother to ask any more questions.
So now, I'll have to figure out how to get to the Sentri lane.
