Does anyone have any information on these areas?

I know that Zona Rio is close to the border, but I read on here from a former poster that Cablemas doesn't serve some areas of Zona Rio due to all of the apartment buildings.

Those areas are not considered part of the Zona Rio.  I lived in Tomas Aquino a couple of years ago.  It's convenient to both borders but nothing special; a typical lower middle class Mexican neighborhood with good transportation.  You might want to start reading the local Tijuana newspapers online and you will discover that Libertad is a frequent mentioned area in the crime reports.

Yes, Colonia Libertad is not a safe place to live. Plus the hill blocks USA TV and SD views.

I agree these areas are a haven for crime. In some cases the closer to the border the higher the crime rate.
