I am seeking an acupuncturist in Baja...not San Diego. If you've had dogs with hip dysplasia you would be familiar with that.

And this is exactly why this board has so little participation except from certain kinds of people. I simply posted a question about acupuncture in Tijuana...not in San Diego or anywhere else in the world. Why do most think only San Diego or the U.S. is the answer? Despite living in Mexico, it seems many have retained the American mentality. I will be glad the day comes that I can finally live the border area and live in the real Mexico despite an area where you wonder sometimes if you are really living in Mexico and hopefully live with more enlightened people regardless if they are Mexican...or American.

Anyone with an ounce of brains would know that Cyanide meant that he had never heard of veterinary acupuncture before on either side of the border, let alone acupuncture treatment for canine hip dysplasia. He even wrote, "Good luck in your search and I hope your dog feels better," but nevertheless got a bitchy response.

I was in fact stating that I have never heard of veterinary acupuncture. I was unaware such a thing existed. I know Mary Ellen cares very much for our 4 legged friends, and if her dog is suffering I am sure is under a lot of stress.

MaryEllen, do you know if that will help with allergies?

This forum would be much more effective and attract more regular participants if responses were informative rather than expressing person opinions such as "I've never heard of veterinary acupuncture", etc.
Not everyone who lives in Mexico has spent their entire life with limited experiences.
So the point is that most people are looking for information...not opinions about what the respondent knows or doesn't know as that is totally irrelevant.
But don't worry....I will find the information other than on this board which seems to have very limited participation despite the fact that many here have lived in Mexico much longer than myself but seem to have a more sequestered life.

Stating that "I've never heard of veterinary acupuncture" is a fact, not an opinion. Therefore in that one statement alone, I have supplied more factual information to this thread than you have.

so since I am stating the difference between fact's and opinions, let me continue:

FACT: Just because someone is not familiar with veterinary acupuncture doesn't automatically mean their lives are filled with limited experiences.
OPINION: I am sure I have been on this planet about half of the time you have, but I like to think that I have had some pretty good experiences.

FACT: No where on this board does it say we are required to post factual information and refrain from opinions.
OPINION: There is a lot of good information on this board in addition to even more bad opinions.


I do agree with you that most people on this forum are looking for information. I was fortunate enough to learn that veterinary acupuncture existed. Thank you for enlightening me. Even had I read the wikipedia article on Canine hip dysplasia, I would not have learned about this practice. I apologize that the limited participants on this board were not able to supply you with more information about this very niche field. When you find the information, please be sure to come back and share it for the rest of us. Fortunately my dog does not have hip dysplasia, but one day my dog my develop this condition and need this treatment.


And by the way, I still hope your dog feels better.

For everyone's information...veterinary acupuncture has been in California for many years...perhaps not in San Diego which is more conservative than Los Angeles and San Francisco or Portland...all cities where I've lived and had easy access to veterinary acupuncture since the late 1990's. And perhaps most pet owners aren't interested in alternative veterinary medicine which tends to save $$$.
Haven't yet found an acupuncturist here in Baja and perhaps I won't but have discovered a very strong medicine readily available at Gusher Pharmacy which I found through extensive web research.

That website has a different type of person than here, i.e., mostly retired Americans who appear to have more $$$ and don't live in Tijuana or Rosarito so don't think that is the problem.
