Greetings to all;
My wife, son and I are now living in Tijuana since being priced out of the San Diego area. I cross each day to go to work and my wife (TJ native) stays at home. My son is going to school in TJ.

I just moved to Tijuana too! biggrin.gif well for now Im actually only living there on the weekends because I work in Orange County, Ca (for now it's my weekend get away) I need to find a job in San Diego so I can live there full time...My husband is living there full time and my son and I go down there every weekend to be with him...so far I really love it! I live in Otay right near the border, literally 3 minutes walking distance from the line...and I really love the area... the pricing for rent-awesome! its very affordable...I plan on looking for schools in San Diego for my son to go to, but I dont think I would mind him going to a school in Tijuana either...I hear there are some good schools, however, my son doesnt know much spanish...BUT he will soon know much more since we will be there all the time... so we will see...
I just took a trip down to el centro this weekend and I cant wait to go back... I wanna buy more dulce de mexicano! tongue.gif

If you decide on public school for your son in San Diego, you will have to register him with a physical residential address there and have a U.S. phone number you can be readily reached at.

There are some private primary and secondary education schools in Tijuana that have bilingual Spanish/English class instruction.

I was wondering...around how much is the tuition for private schools in Tijuana that have bilingual classes? does anyone know?

They vary, some are high and some are reasonable. We looked at several when we first got her. You are in Otay and I have heard, there are good schools there, but I live in TJ and I know more the prices around me. they run btwn 1500-4000 pesos a month. I think if you are spending dollars that is reasonable. I know I paid $780 a month for daycare in the US. We live on pesos and it is hard sometimes but it is important to us to have him in Private schools. I can not imagine crossing everyday without a Sentri to take him to school and esp since I don't work there...

Hello Everyone! Brand new to the site. Still living in San Diego for now but strongly considering moving to TJ or Rosarito for cheaper rent. My grown son and I live together for now, but soon he will be moving to Australia and I will be living alone. Any ideas on safe places to rent in either TJ or Rosarito? I have a small dog and 2 cats as well. I will welcome any and all information. Thanks.
Pet Mom
