Wow Mari, Welcome!
I am curious too...why Tijuana and not another part of Mexico or other place? I bet that you probably know someone that lives in Tijuana right?
Regardless, it is nice to chat with you and don't forget to bring some of that delicious German Food with you to share with us!
I love German Food, how are your tastes towards Mexican Food?
I have heard by the way that there is a large colony of German people living not too far from here. I also heard that German settlers used to frequent Mexico and even influenced Mexican Music that is why sometimes it has that OOmpa sound and alot of horns and sometimes a tuba and accordian are used. I had a friend from Germany visit me when I was in San Diego and she told me.
Happy Travels!

Hello,

I will go to California and Baja California for personal research activities. My spanish is allright, but could be better, I'm learning and learning! I hope, that I will find a place to live in Tijuana! Which place will be the best for rent (I have heard, that Playas is allright!?).

Sugarpaws: I have heard a lot of things about the german communities in northern mexico (most of them are located in chihuahua, I guess)!

I look forward to TJ,
Greetings from Berlin,

mari

Germany, I've been there twice and had a great time, although I did go for work but you will find lots of warm people and good food in TJ, last time I came back from Hannover and landed in Chicago my phone rang and I got some great news and started crying and screaming in the airport shuttle train, good thing it was in the U.S. you Germans would have thought I was crazy and called the white coats on me!

Welkommen! Und Vegetz(sp?)

Going out on a limb again and have to ask if Mari is short for Marike?

Marike is one of my favorite songs. Written by Jacques Brel (Belgian) and sung great by Judy Collins. Have you been to Bruges or Ghent?

I could not go to Berlin so don't know it; been to Bonn tho, if that counts. rolleyes.gif

I would much, much, much, much rather be in Germany, Bamberg, Eltmann, Dippach am Main than Tijuana. I very strongly suggest you reconsider moving.
