Hello everybody, i have been a member for a while and i can now officially say i live in TJ, my name is Mauricio (although not mexican but my wife is), my family and i decided to move to mexico to see if this is were we want to live when i retire.
I would live some advise and places to go visit, i don't drink, smoke or do drugs and really not interested in night life, but more family oriented places, we love eating out, outdoor activities, i like motorcycle racing and would be interested in finding out where to race. My kids don't have friends yet and they sure miss their buddies, so maybe a club or something like it where kids can interact, around my house is a place called Club Britania, maybe someone can tell me how that place is. we are also very active and enjoy sports maybe a good gym, anyways i appreciate the replies and hopefully enjoy my stay in TJ and who knos maybe become a permanent resident.

¿qué onda Mauricio? Welcome to the site. I like motorcycles as well, both road and dirt racing. Baja is great for offroad desert riding.
Tijuaneses Americans in TJ drive like crap, Get your Mexican Insurance here.

Que onda Mauricio. Welcome to the board, and welcome to TJ. It may look like there is not much to do in TJ, but there is. You just gotta keep your eyes open. Some places are hidden, and you stumble into them. Parque Morelos, and Parque de la Amistad, Museo el Trompo, Playas de tijuana or Rosarito, Albecas El Verjel (Swimming pools), plaza rio, movies,

More people will chime in to show you around.....

Hola Mauricio, bienvenido a Tijuana! I work at the school right by the club near your house. We are new to TJ also. I am not Mexican, but my husband is. We enjoy the beaches here both in Playas and Rosarito. I have heard from co-workers that both Rosarito and Tecate have nice places for camping and Puerto Nuevo has great restuarants and a nice winery.

Hi Mauricio. My name is Michelle. My husband and i have been here since March and its been pretty lonley. We have four kid. A boy-14, girl-12, girl-10, and boy-8. They are not liking it too much without friends. We dont speak much spanish so we dont even go outside very much. My husband speaks spanish and was born here in TJ so he is not having such a bad time. Anyhow, I dont know if your kids are around the same ages as mine but if so, it would be so great if they could maybe meet. If my kids were happy then all my woes would be gone. Hope this can work out.

I'm another family girl here. We live in the Otay area, near Parque Amistad and I have three kids (9 yo boy, almost 7 yo girl, and 4 year old boy). We don't get out as much as I'd like, in part because I don't speak much Spanish (though I try!) and have a horrible sense of direction and also because I herniated a disk in my back a few months ago and those TJ streets are murder on it :lol.
