Hi,
I don't know the city at all and would like to move there from frozen Canada.

I'm wondering where are most "foreigners" non-Mexican staying around Tijuana? Are there areas that are more safe?

Also are there health food stores in Tijuana? Organic vegetables etc?

Thanks
Dechen

Most foreigners down here live near the beach. While people who commute daily to the US live near the border crossings.

Any specific areas I should be looking for? I read Playas de Tijuana and Rosarito, are these the whole areas?

Most of the food is "organic" in the smaller markets is locally grow as most of the farmers have no money for expensive fertilizers, as for gringo areas playas, rosarito, Del mar, just depends if you have to cross everyday or not if you do there are two borders otay and san yasidro: san yasidro is closer to tj itself and the one you would use if you lived in playas or rosarito or de mar or agua caliente one thing about those areas is that coming and going (del mar,Rosarito) you have autopistas (toll booth) so you have to pay to go home and to leave home 1.50 if you live in tj you could look at Hipadromo or some areas of zona rio on the otay side im not that familiar with. George Costanza and otaybill live over their somewhere they might be the one to ask they should chime in if they dont pm them, but all in all i would prefer the beach playas or del mar area just get gated but the 20 min drive then the border wait is a right bitch to deal with everyday of your life!!! i want to come down again just trying to figure a way not to cross everyday or make some money there too as i really miss Mexico it a great place with great people don't feed into the bullshit you hear its not that bad just keep your nose clean and be aware of your surroundings and you'll be cool.

Rosarito is very nice. Lots of restaurants, stores, etc. Lots to do. Great beaches and great people. Lots of places for rent and for sale. Playas TJ is nice also. There is health care, lots of different plans and of course you are close to border if needed.
