I'm from San Diego. I've been a resident in T.J. for a few years in the same apartment. Suddenly the owner gave me a threatning letter, written by her attorney saying I have 10 days to move out or public force will be used on me to get me out of my apartment and I lose all my belongings. The 10th day is coming up real soon. A few days later I recieved a stamped legal document from the court saying I have 2 months to move out. Which I can handle that just fine. But this 10 day threatening letter has me a nervous wreck. There are alot of false statements on the letter regarding me. Can anyone give me information on what those letters are all about?

From what I know it does take a while to evict people. 10 days is a joke. My landlord evicted one tenant and gave her 60 days to move out so that may be the soonest legal option.
Do you have any lawyer friends down there you can call ?

Cool 2 months huh?...i was gone for 2 weeks, and my apartment was broken into, about $4,000 worth of computer-dvd-stereo, ect. And i blame 50% on the landlord for no, and discontinued security. So, i would like to stay there till im get kicked out. I live in Colonia Independencia since December.

The 10-day notice is bullshit.
The two-months notice is legal.

I don't see a problem in you teaching the other of common respect. 8 yrs in my apartment in Vegas, was injured and late on rent for 1 month, and was given a notice for eviction. #27 why i don't want to live in the USA anymore.
So you want to be a citizen of Mexico? i'm guessing you have to marry a beautiful young Latina!!

Oliver,
Yes the 10 days is not true, But down here in Rosarito it is possible to "hire" a police officer to come over and try to get you to leave.
Recently a friend of mine paid a tenent 500.00 bucks to move out and this was after he had not paid for 3 months. You can drag this out in the courts if you choose..

If you want to fight the eviction, then I suggest an attorney that handles that sort of thing.
