Is this an unusual winter in Tijuana and Rosarito Beach? I moved here in November. Seems like 90% of time it is very cloudy, cold, damp, a lot of rain, and fog. I thought it would be sunny and warmer than it is. I was just curious if this is usual. I hope the summer is warm and sunny.

That's why it is called winter. It's supposed to be cloudy, windy, rainy, dampy, etc. etc. etc.

Summer = sunny, hot, great beach weather. No need to post abuot the weahter. We can't do anything about it...

Spring mornings are usually cool and overcast. The hot inland valleys cause a cool marine layer of clouds to form on the coast. Hence the terms, "May Grey," and "June Gloom."

If you want sunny weather, you'll have to move inland to Otay. tongue.gif

Or Tecate.

my wife and I were at the swap meet over in Otay about 3 weeks ago. Were we live it was cloudy, so we thought it would be like that throughout. So we get there, and it was sunny, and clear. And the sun was strong that day, and it started to get warm around mid-day. So we bailed and headed to Rosarito. Which was more windy, cooler.

Just goes to show you how quick weather changes depending where you go.

There are lot of places in Mexico where winter is not cloudy, windy, rainy, dampy, etc, etc, etc and it is called WINTER. Everything I had read about Rosarito Beach did not indicate winter being as cool as it is here and if I wish to post about weather, I will. Thank you.......

A lot of people prefer the beaches around San Felipe, the Sea of Cortez, always sunny. But in summer expect 100+ temperatures. ohmy.gif

I spent two years in Rosarito and the winter season can be cold and very cloudy. I understand what your saying RG winters can be a drag in Rosarito. You should have seen my electric bills during the winter months I remember it in the 40s a few times.

The summers are obviously much better but you can get the fog that takes a while to burn off.

Summers in Otay get hot and miserable, especially afternoons. Best to head out to Rosarito.

Point Loma by the lighthouse is cold, overcast and gloomy 80% of the year. Hard to believe living a few miles east the same day would be warm and full of sun.

I pay $5 - $10 dollars a month for a two-bedroom apartment. I only use the lights and the computer.

It's been cold lately down here. Does it snow near Tecate or Mexicali during the winter?

It snows in the Rumarosa, which is that high altitude region east of Tecate and west of the Mexicali desert.
