The Lucera was once "the hotel" in Tijuana, with the President of Mexico present for the grand opening. It is still a very nice place.

It's located in the Zona Rio on Paseo de los Heroes. (Any cab driver should be able to find it.) The air conditioning in the annex is less tempermental than in the older portion of the building. Rooms with a AAA discount are about $90.00.

I really enjoy eating in Rivoli, the Lucerna's main restaurant. It's a crystal and linen type of place. Starting around 9pm they have somebody playing the piano. It's a nice place for those seeking a romantic setting. Plus it has good food.

I have never stayed here but have used the one in Mexicali and it is very high end. If it is anything like the one in Mexicali which was the first Lucerna then I highly recomend staying here. I beleive they also have thier own Taxi service which is very nice.

I've eaten at the restaurant and the decor is nice and the food is delicious. If you like a quiet place to eat here it is.

Stayed there over the weekend. Nice place, an oasis. I made the reservations online and saved myself about $40 a night by clicking on the 60 and over promotion (even though I am not that old). Pretty good breakfast/brunch.
