I was walking down Revu and noticed that this place closed, that sucks. When did this happen? They even took the car off of the roof.

It closed in June after being open 16 years

That's sad but have you seen downtown lately? It's a ghost town. They even ripped the stars out of the side walk.

Tijuana feels like less of a border town now. And more like a city in the interior of Mexico.

I was at Rosarito Beach a month a ago and, although busy, it seemed more of a local scene.

Personally, I prefer a Baja with less tourists.

Anybody remember Bol Corona, the place that was there before the Hard Rock? Good food, cold beer and a convivial atmosphere were always to be found there.

The few times I visited the Hard Rock I felt I was no longer in Mexico. Bad food, high prices, silly waiters. Good riddance.

The Bol Corona still lives (and dates from the 1950s). The original is on Negrete around Third and another is along the Bulevar. I hope to return there soon.

Anyone remember the old arcade that was across the street? It was near Hotel nelson.
I'm not surprised about Hard Rock the very few times I've been in that area I didn't notice a single customer in there.

In eight years of going to TJ and two living there, neither have I. I didn't go to TJ to visit an American franchise.

True, I never ate there... but it was something familiar to look at for most folks.

I remember walking in to order some food. I ordered a drink and looked at the menu and hamburgers were like 12 dollars and most dishes were around 20 dollars I asked for my check and one drink was 7 dollars!!!

Sorry to see this bar closed, but with their prices I am not surprised.

I do have a tee shirt, wonder if it is worth more now?

The last time I was there my wife went to the bathroom before we headed back to the border. We caught a taxi right outside.
As we got to the taxi drop off at the border, my wife discovered that she didn't have her purse, of course along with id, money, phone, camera, and anti snake bite kit, etc., etc.
Jumped back in the cab, back to the Hard Rock.
I went to the bartender, she went back to the bathroom, and found her purse in the stall with everything in it. Wheuw!

So now when we leave a restaurant i ask if she has her purse, I'll get a giggle and a punch in the shoulder.

It really just goes to show you that there was no business going on.

while we were headed back we were both in a panic. But now that nothing happened we laugh about it
