Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good place to repair a small crack in a windshield. For small repairs (smaller than the size of a quarter), the going rate in the U.S. seems to be $45-$50. I was wondering how much savings I could get by going to Tijuana.
Please post if you know of a good place.
Thanks,
El Sabio

I wish I could tell you where I just had a window replaced, but let's just say there is a multitude of places between 1st street and 3rd on Ocampo, Negrete, and Madero. I replaced a back vent window for $40 and was quoted $125 in the states.

There is an auto glass place on 8th (Hidalgo) and Quitana Roo that did a nice job of repairing the motor in my car's window. It is on 8th one block before Sanchez Toabada, a block from the new COSTCO. The most visible sign says Videro para Auto. I dealt with Gilbert, who spoke excellent English. I think the exact name and address is: Auto Cristales, Ave Quinatana Roo #1611, (664) 688-1077. The fee for fixing the motor was $60.09, which was great since I have a quote of $225.00 from a shop in the US.
Good luck.

Thanks for your replies, guys.
I actually made it down to TJ on the weekend, but didn't have time to get the car repaired. Not a big deal... it gives me an excuse to go back!

I'm fortunate to have a couple of locals for friends. One of whom recommend this place.

This is a place... not to go to!
I wish I could remember the name. I will need to dig out the receipt and post the name later. I had the windshield replaced on my Jeep Grand Cherokee (Back in about... March) and had to take it back because it leaked. Leaked Bad. They were nice enough about it...and redid. But sure enough IT STILL leaks. So.. not much help here.
