Hello, Glad to have found this forum. We are interested in moving to Rosarito beach for six months beginning in July. We want to be as close to the beach as possible and as close to downtown as possible. We are also interested in enrolling in a language course. Any suggestions for either? Thank you!

Baja California Language College (http://www.bajacal.com/) will tailor classes to anything that suits you. I took two days of private class there and am now fluent. Ok so I lived in Tijuana another 6 years after the classes, may have helped a bit.

As far as housing in Ensenada I can't help. (Trivia: Ensenada means 'Inlet').

For Rosarito Beach rentals there are many resources. What is happening is that they are going to be filming a large portion of Narnia 3 at the old Fox studio lot in Popotla and rentals are starting to be grabbed up. My suggestion would be to come and invest a couple of days to look around and see what you can get. I can provide you with some referrals if you need.

As far as language classes, there are many resources. I like to recommend a local guy in Rosarito by the name of Rob Cochran. Nice guy and unique approach to learning the language that I think works well. He does computer tech work as well.

their are two ways to go but if you are only staying 6 month

i would visit rosarito and look at local news papers and drive around the area that you like..

using a broker is much easier but prepare to pay extra fees since your rental is short term.

many house owners will be happy to rent the place out for month to month and with negative news comming out of baja norte news, i am sure their will be planty of beach rental from july to dec.

of course if you leave too far away from mexico to make a quick trip to rosarito than a broker will be handy.

by the way have you been to rosarito mx.?

Good suggestion guys! I agree with Choi on finding a great location and if time is short call a broker.
Bajagringo, Rob classes are pretty cheap how did you find out about that guy ?

Actually that is not the market right now drchoi. Rentals are moving quite well right now in Rosarito and expected to be hard to get this summer because of the filming that will begin soon...

He does a language column in the BajaTimes and we have become friends via that connection. Although we have communicted a bit we have never actually met face to face. Just today we agreed to take care of that next week over lunch...
