The car I took for repair to Otay was driveable, thank goodness, but before I realized that, I was trying to figure out how to get it down there.

Just out of curiousity, anybody have any ideas on how to tow a car into TJ from the US side?

As long as you have proper documentation for the vehicle it shouldn't be a problem. They will probably stop you and check at the border, but if you watch you will see a lot of vehicles towed down here to get repaired...

Right, but the real question is where do you find a tow company to do it and how much does it cost? Sorry my question wasn't more clear.

I don't know who does it, but just to repeat what Bajagringo wrote- they can't tow the car into Tijuana unless you are with the driver and can show proof of ownership.

Otherwise, they might suspect that the car was just stolen and being brought into Mexico to be chopped up.

Are you a AAA member? I would call up a couple of tow places in San Ysidro and see if they would do it....
