Oh no, not this again!!! I hope there is no time difference between the two states for a week again. I hope someone has an answer, I'll research this.

There seems to be a 4 week difference this year. 9 March in San Diego and 6 April in Tijuana.

Aww man....FOUR WEEKS!!!!!! That’s a long freaking time. Wasn't it only about a week at the beginning, or should I say the end of daylight savings??? Since I work and go to school in San Diego, I think my clocks will change this weekend... except for maybe one.

Kudos to California for moving forward a month early… I LOVE THE EXTRA DAYLIGHT IN THE EVENING. GET WITH THE TIMES BAJA...literally. biggrin.gif

I agree. I love Daylight Savings time. It is just a matter of the two governments talking to each other and then making the arrangements so that the respective stock markets, banking and insurance industries can adjust with the change. They plan these things way ahead of time. I think that perhaps the fact that the US is not making this an official change to the Daylight Savings Time schedule but has treated it as more of an exception is why Mexico hasn't gotten onboard. Most people you talk to here in Baja and other border areas like the change and want Mexico to do it. When I talk to people in the DF they don't seem to have a strong opinion either way generally which might be why the government hasn't moved on this.

I say we make some noise!!!!

I wish both usa and mexico would get it together. Why is it different now? I know that they were the same before, no?

See the two countries have difference cultures why would you want to make them the same?

It's different now because the US decided to change the days they observe it beginning in 2007. Mexico has not changed. The only place I think it's much of an issue is border areas. Like us who cross between San Diego and Tijuana a lot and are easily confused. What was I talking about? Never mind.

"What time is it right now?"

Obviously a very subjective subject with no absolute answer except that "right now" is the only time that actually exists. Who asked?

As chiquito correctly observed it is a very subjective thing. Time is a dimension in which our three dimensional world, visible to the human eye exists but has no exact point of "now". It only has infinite points along the graphical line of time where you choose to make an observation or reach via an algorithm or random event. In fact all time coexists at once in the fourth dimension. We could get into some theories of quantum physics and parallel lines of time existing in the graphical dimensions of reality but probably not something most here would be interested in if they are only trying to get to work "on time".

It is a relative sort of thing...

In case your interested, The new daylight savings time is a result of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 that amended the Uniform Time Act of 1966.

Simple - just remember that no matter where you go, there you are!

Who here can remember what movie that was from back in the 80's???
