I figured we could help people out by posting decent rentals you may find on the internet such as CL. That way it gives people a chance to see going rates or rentals in that particular area.

I am renting my apartment 2br, 2 levels, 10 min to the Otay border. Life is cheap
in Tijuana and you can save money to buy a house. No point in wasting money in rent. you pay for gas and water but is not much.

I have to take issue with that statement. I had six years in Playas de Tijuana with the SENTRI. Average time to get to the border crossing on a weekday was 25 minutes for 7 miles. Average wait in SENTRI line varied from 20 to 40 minutes. Then 30 to 45 minutes more to the Miramar area.

On a perfect day with zero traffic and zero wait it was 40+ minutes from Playas to downtown San Diego, going around 80 MPH on the freeways. Adding another 15 to 20 miles to get to Rosarito. 20 minutes maybe if you have a helicopter and you don't mind the border patrol and coast guard chasing you.

Yeah, that is definitely a true statement. I have noticed that most people wanting to rent or sell real estate make the border crossing sound quicker than it is. I prefer to give the measure in miles in lieu of minutes.

Baja i've seen the miles scam as well, few miles from the border and its more like 12 to 15 miles

I looked and answered 15 ads mostly from El Mexicano before lucking out and finding a new house right across from are old one. I found half the ads to be misleading and the ads that were truthful were overpriced.

Unfortunately that is part of the reality of Real Estate. It's not always intentional fraud - people tend to see their own property through rose colored glasses and it is reflected when they advertise it.
