Hey everyone, I'm going sarging for some Mexican girls this Friday, Sept. 14 at Las Pulgas. I'd like to extend an open invitation to any blog members that would like to join. Singles or couples, it doesn't matter. I'm going anyway, but it's more fun to go in a group.

Respond to the message or PM me if interested.

Let me know and we can at least have a drink and catch up. I agree - small groups are better than large groups. I plan to be up and about for most of the night anyway.

cool. thanks for the definition, I was not aware of that. I've been wanting to go there, but I get told not too by others, not sure why. My sister in law goes there a lot with her husband and they seem to like it. What kind of crowd ? My wife and I are in our late 20's not sure it thats the reason they tell us that its not for us ? Any info would be helpful. I've been going to TJ for about 11-12 years now, started while I was in high school with buddies in the OC and going to Rev. Ave. My wife introduced me to the other parts of TJ which I have grown to like i.e baby rock, rodeo, La Plaza, Catz, tangaloo and others. Im not much of a Rev Ave cruzer now a days, but a good cruise around the block does not sound to bad for old time sakes.

Thanks
Hank Rivers

It's 99 percent locals and the age range is from 18 to 40's. You definately would need to speak spanish to get around but in your case if your bringing your wife I see no problem. Saturdays are mostly for couples and fridays tend to be more singles.

Cool thanks for the input. I will try to check it out soon as I dont want to intrude in your "sarging" with my ball and chain next to me. As far as the spanish goes I can get around since I am fluent in both. I studies in Guatemala for a year and the fact that both my parents are hispanic helps. Hank Rivers is my caucasion name that they gave me in Arkansas. HA HA HA.

Well in Las Pulgas you will become Enrique Rios then. Sarging, sounds military. I will be in the area Saturday but not sure about Friday.

Parking can be a real pain in the butt after 8 or 9pm.
At least it's true for Ladies Night (Wed or Thurs).
It's probably better to take a cab from home or a secure parking facility further away or find parking nearby waaaaay early.

If you drive, be very careful of the cops. They have been known to target club goers and scare gringos into giving up a mordida. Your choice is the mordida or the breathalyzer.
They will let you know that just the one drink you had might cost you a huge fine, a very costly vehicle impoundment, and some jail time.
So like ummm, what's it gonna be pal ?

Now I've been meaning to research this for some time but I just keep damn forgetting.
At the very least, I wonder what the higher police officials would have to say on the subject.
Anybody got some lawyer input on this ?

That is sound advice anywhere.

There isn't anything bad at all in Las Pulgas, except for the types of trouble that can happen at any popular club. Use the same precautions that you would use at any other place (not leaving your drink unattended, etc...) and everything will be fine.

Yes, it's open every evening with Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays being the "slowest". Wednesdays is Ladies Night in which there isn't a cover charge for them.
I don't know about cover charges on other nights though.

Another concern one might have besides parking issues is being able to find a damn seat on the not so slow nights (or be standing the whole time).
If you've ants in your pants and always need to dance, then you'll do fine.
I though like to sit some of the time.

Pretty girls ? Well I assume so. I've seen and enjoyed muchas bucktoothed, cross-eyed women with panzas. But that's me.
Whatever floats your boat in that regard could probably be found there.

Interesting, Ladies nights sounds like a good time to check out La Pulgas. What's the dress code? Does everybody dress"Vaquero" Cowboy style?

Do they play Cumbia's?

The are pretty laxed in their dress code. I have seen tee shirts and sneakers but I once when in with a jesery with a number 7 and they would not let me in. No gang numbers they said to me.

They do once in a while in the disco room and once upstairs they had a cumbia/salsa room but they keep changing styles.
