If you are looking for economy...and security at the same time...

Hotel San Nicolas on the corner of Segunda (Juarez) and Madero in Centro. Roughly 30 bucks will get you a decent room with cable, hot water, toiletries, and clean sheets. The management doesn´t put up with crap. It would be on the lines of a Hampton Inn quality wise, but its mom and pop with a Mexican flavor. You can order delivery from an inexpensive Mexican eatery a few doors down.

Zona Rio has several places that charge between 70-hundreds. Pueblo Amigo and Camino de Real are safe and reliable bets.

On Niños Heroes and 7th there is a decent and clean looking place that charges 25 dollars a night, but I have never seen the inside or know anyone that has.

I like the Hotel Paris myself, on 5th between Revolucion and Constitucion. $32 a night, and cheaper if you have a credit card, and its family runm so you don't have to worry about CC theft. If your a member of AAA you can stay at the Grand Hotel Tijuana for $59 weekdays, and $69 weekends days. There you'll be around the Tijuana movers and shakers, and if you want to eat with the movers and shakers of Mexico go across the street, and dine at Bob's Big Boy Restaurant.

Hotel La Villa de Zaragoza on Madrero between 7th and 8th. Standard room with a king bed is $45 per night double occupancy. There's a security guard on the premises 24/7 and there are three restaurants less than half a block away.

The Hotel Paris is pretty open about guests, but you should mention it to the clerk.. When I took the penthouse suite ($40 a night), the proprietor was open about the thing, since he invited me to do it before I even asked. So there you go.

I've had friends & family stay at this place with contentment. It also incudes parking.

Yesterday, I was shown a room there which appeared ummm, ... just okay. It included Sky TV (satellite?).
Also noticed a decent sized parking lot in the complex, but I neglected to ask if parking was included.

  • Interests:Helping my brother in law find a safe place to live until my sister can transfer her job and move there to live. He has lived in the USA since he was three days old! He received damage to his brain when he was 19 and and has had seizures off and on for many years. My sister met him 14 years ago and they fell in love and were married. What we did not know is when he was 20 he woke up in a strange home by the police and they charged him with breaking and entering. After he went to jail they wanted to collect fines but he had NO money...so they deported him. Back then it was easy to walk back across the border....since this time he has suffered an aneurysm and had brain surgery in 2010. Some how INS found out where they lived and picked him up three weeks ago. We are searching for a safe place for him to live ASAP. Any help would be appreciated!!!

I have stayed at the Lucerna for about a week once and it was very nice! We had a cabana right next to the pool! They hooked us up! It is NOT a place affordable to stay long term. I would like to find a place to stay long term that has a decent price for the month! It needs a small fridge and maybe a hot plate?
