oboy DRama!!!

Anyways back to the icecream, I promised myself to stay away from ice cream. So its getting kinda hard for me, and I said I would never eat ice cream unless it was Gelato.

Are there any in Mexico? coz im getting kinda anxious. lol

Well then I researched actually opening a Gelato place here, and those machines are about 3000 a piece!!! Thats kinda like a laundry place.
But Gelato would probly make more $$$$

That would be a great idea for Mexico, since I dont know if theres one, and Im CRAVINGGGGGG ICE CREAMMMMMMMMMM laugh.gif

Hey I did check out that place in zona rio, someone mentioned at the bloggers, but all I tasted was grains of sugar...not so good...I am definitely the ice cream critic, who GOT GELATO??

Gelato is not really ice cream; although called that; it is made with milk, not cream (and please do not try to push any products on me I don't need. laugh.gif )

See article below from Wikipedia:

Gelato is an Italian frozen dessert made from milk and sugar, combined with other flavourings. The gelato ingredients (after an optional pasteurization) are super-cooled while stirring to break up ice crystals as they form. Like high end ice cream, gelato generally has less than 35% air - resulting in a dense and extremely flavoursome product.

Gelato has become a generic Italian word for ice cream, though true gelato contains no cream. The same word is commonly used in English speaking countries to refer to "ice cream" that is prepared in the Italian way. "Gelato" is an Italian word for "frozen" and comes from the Italian word gelare, meaning "to freeze."

Gelato in Italian equals Helado in Spanish. Which is the commonly used word for ice cream but technically means 'iced'. 'Frozen' in Mexican Spanish is 'Congelado' which litterally translated to English is 'Congealed'. But litteral translations don't' work well. I don't know much Italian but my translator gives 'gelato gelato' for 'frozen ice cream'.

As far as where, I used to see it at an ice cream shop in Plaza Rio but don't anymore. It was all over in Venice and Rome last year (duh) but I never tried it.

I could put a box of it in a cooler then toss it to you over the fence at the beach. Might save some time. I'll try next time I get down to India Street.

I'm not sure if they serve "gelato"... but a really good place for "helado" is Tepoznieves... in the same plaza as Sam's club near TJI Friday's on Sanchez Taobado...

They are sort of like 31 flavors... but I'd say they have about 100... some of them are pretty strange...

Here's a link...

You are right about the texture.... but I think they have really good and inventive flavors... I think I like the place because on a hot day it's nice to sit at the picnic style tables eating ice cream and playing dominoes... you can borrow a set at the counter.
