LOL There are plenty of gals down here hat are compatible for having a monogamous and life long relationship with. The odds are that it wont be found in the Centro bars. Look at the map of Tijuana, and read the surveys of INEGI (The Mexican equivalent of the census bureau.). Centro and Playas don't typify what is here.

I get the humor. laugh.gif Of course use your best judgement and pick the mate with values that you share. Don't just try to conform to meet the values of that person because the other might be trying to do the same, and in the end it will end in disaster.

Liberty;

Please! Please stop with your lame advice. As usual you misread me. My comment was a COMPLETE JOKE! I am quite happy with the women in my life and I DO NOT need your stupid advice. Please just shut up.

I don’t know if you have very low self-esteem or why you have an unhealthy need to prove yourself as the ultimate knowledge source. As far as your comments go, please use one of my rules: Engage brain before operating mouth. Thank you.

Please, please, please DO NOT respond or LECTURE me anymore on what I say on this Blog and we will get along fine. OK? Thank you.

Do what I do - Install a three filter in line system under your sink:

.45 micron particle filter followed by 2 activated carbon filters

Works great and is as good as any of the bottled water you buy or refill.

this is what i want to do, as well as for the shower (probably even more essential for me is the shower). i have found a couple devices online. are there any brands you recommend?

Don’t know if this is right thread but it is about water here in TJ, right? Can’t find that thread and can’t remember who posted that they crank up the water heater at night before they go to bed (8 hours?) so they have a hot shower in the morning but what a waste!

To whomever it was and others, maybe my practice could be adopted and save you money. I definitely DO NOT jump out of bed and into the shower; don’t really know who sane does. Those Army training camp days are over for me.

I keep my water heater (not boiler; boilers are things used to make steam like for locomotives, ships, old domestic steam heating, etc.) on a click above vacation and it is warm enough to wash hands, face, dishes... In the morning when I wake up, I start the coffee, turn the water heater up one click/knotch and run hot water so it knows the new setting and kicks in; go turn on the computer, drink my coffee and whatever and by that time (10-15 minutes) the water in the shower is steamy.

DO NOT TURN the water heater control up to MAX!!! EVER!!! Unless you want to buy a new one. The water heater controls that I have seen in Mexico are one time use only with automatic destruct built in if maxed out.

Hope this helps some.

I never noticed any difference between the water heaters in Mexico and the ones in the US, at least in any of the places I lived. My recurring repair has always been the pilot, but at least that's cheap.

I've always heard the Mexicans refer to the water heater as a boiler. While not technically correct it is the word to use if you want to be understood.

Yeah, I know they call it a boiler here for some reason, but then I am too picky about English* maybe; the water heater heats water, it does not make it into steam like a boiler. Although when I first moved here into an Infonovit** my roomie cranked that thing up to MAX and we did have scalding steam until it blew completely. Cranking it to Max ain’t gonna’ make the water hotter faster; what an idiot! He blew the control, needless to say.

And a BIG Caution! Water over 120 degrees will burn you and especially small babies. I know! My ex-wife’s BF put my son in the too hot bath. If I were homicidal, the BF would be on the top of my list to leave the planet.

My son though came through it all like a real trooper (so to speak) and then in middle school when he had Z-plasties (Z cuts into the scar tissue) done to let the burn skin grow as he was growing, a shark bite sounded better to him to tell his classmates when he was surfing than being put in a too hot bath as a baby; muy, muy more macho..............

Don’t know if the controls are that much different in US but the ones I had, did have degrees F on them and I never turned one to max and blow it and burn my family.

* May I suggest reading “The History of the English Language”. Very, very interesting.

**Infonovits: I really do not know what Infonovits some here speak about as being really bad with people not paying rent/mortgage. But the one I live in has FAR fewer renta and venta signs than I have seen in the past 3 years and no one here is moving or behind on their rent/mortgage as far as I can see. Bad info again or in a bad Infonovit?

But then the world is coming to an end... Bear Sterns*** for $2.00 a share; just down from $170.00 a share a few months ago. Boy! I missed that one. And Lehmann Brothers and CitiCorp are next??? Buy all the shakey banks stocks you can, George W. will bail them out while ignoring Joe Average struggling to keep his house for his family.

*** But then my ex-wife works for them, so I am not shedding any tears. She worked for J. David Dominelli too and they went belly up... Do I see a pattern here? Who was that guy in the old Dick Tracey comics that always had a rain cloud over his head???

* I do know quite about about the English language thank you but I was referring to the Spanish language. In Mexican Spanish 'boiler' is the word they use. Just don't think of it as English and you'll be ok.

** INFONAVIT, http://www.infonavit.gob.mx/, is a department of the Mexican government. Like the US department of Housing and Urban Development, http://www.hud.gov/. One of the things they do is sponsor housing projects which are usually referred to as infonavits. They are intended as affordable housing for Mexican citizens to purchase. Many rent them out after completing their obligation.

Yes, you live in the projects.

*** All I'm watching is the stock that I will have vested options in come June. And it keeps dropping. :x :x

Bush sucks. I will not receive the laughable 'rebate' because there is a non-resident alien on my return.
