Check the numbers of illegal drug sales in Mexico to Mexican citizens against the sales to USA. It's not even close. The heart of the battle between cartels is fighting to control product transportation and distribution into the USA, not Mexico. That's not my opinion - that's from a report to congress by the DEA earlier this year. I'll see if I can still find a link to the online report and I'll post it...

It's all about the money. Americans have it.

I think the toll road must be important so the East County drug addict can get their fix faster. Either going to TJ to get a fix or to transport the product to East County. Now are we back on topic?
What is the best process to get a fast trac account?

Staying on topic...
I thought they didn't need the toll road in East County because they made there own drugs there.

Woo ooooo, I'm scared Mr. Policeman. It's against the law and therefore it must be bad ! Save me from that bad, baaad marijuana smoking man. He's a gosh danged diddly dogged "evil doer" ! Ohhh, your such a hero Mr. Law Enforcement - Soldier - Marine - Sheriff - CIA - McBush - Dog the Bounty Hunter - blah, blah, blah ! Save me, save us, and fer gawd sake, SAVE the children ! Molesters, Osama, & other boogymen are everywhere. Give me a freeeeak'in break. I can't stand all this hero worship around people who legally carry guns. In a healthy society, there aren't supposed be the need for guns & cops everywhere you look. Go back to your gated community (aka the USA).
When I grew up, MOST normal kids occasionally used drugs and didn't suffer addictions, steal, nor behave antisocially. We were suspicious of kids who were so squeaky "clean". Like what planet was this guy from ? Maybe he could be a serial killer having not been socialized properly.
Think of all the money spent and lives ruined due to the government's failed "drug war" policy. Decriminalizing, if not legalizing and taxing such substances along with generous rehab clinic funding would empty out much of the prison population and save the tax payers lots of money and grief.
Ever watch a reality cop show ? Our police state loving government is inundated our nation's TV viewers with a steady diet of cop show entertainment every which way we look. Watching some of these buffed up gee wiz cops pretending to be so concerned (in front of the camera) about the welfare of the community and the suspect in custody for possessing a small amount of marijuana makes me almost want to puke !
I used to argue with cops and remind them who pays his salary, etc, etc. Now I'm almost scared to death to say anything.
"It is not a Mexico problem - it is a USA problem! " I say it's both but mostly the US reponsibility. That's because the Mexican government is highly corrupt and is a puppy dog to any US administration. That's just fine for the US gov/business interests and their geo-political sphere of influence. The only other Latin American country with such close ties to the US is the drug cartel & right-wing death squad controlled nation of Columbia. They happen to be very "business friendly" as well. Union workers & organizers, liberal, and leftist politicians have routinely been murdered or disappeared. The USA fears greatly the more independent Castro-Hugo-Evo-Correa-Kirchner-Lula-etc-etc alliance of countries being constructed against it's previous economic & political domination.
Though they hate admit it publicly, most of our powerful US political leaders (and their corporate masters) prefer dictators and monarchs over democracy or socialism as long as they are corporate (i.e. business) friendly. Think: Suharto, Somoza, Shah, Stroessner, Salazar, Salassie, Marcos, Mobutu, Montt, Martinez, Franco, Fahd, Batista, Botha, Baby & Papa Doc, etc, etc....
Many US liberal & conservatives try to justify this by saying many countries have political and trade relations with others sovereign nations, be they corrupt or not and why shouldn't we. Others might argue against it by stating that supporting a nation's government economically, politically, and militarily all while suppressing human rights and democracy constitute interfering and the prevention of it's independence. This would be especially so when you add that the nation was invaded and occupied just beforehand.
How many people know that at one time Nelson Mandela was considered a terrorist by the US government in which the CIA was used to capture him and lock him away for some 20 odd years ? I'm sure many such views prevailed during our own slavocracy era. Oh, how could I think of such things on a Sunday morning . . .. .
Now, where were we with the topic ? What was it again ?

Scooby, I agree with you mostly. If the problem was purely marijuana I could care less. It's the cocaine and heroin I am more concerned about. My ex-wife and step-son are currently dealing with his addiction to heroin. If you have never dealt with it closeup and personal you have no idea how devastating it really is. This is a kid who carried a 4.0+ GPA through high school and had a 4 year college scholarship to UCSB. If you could see what his life has become and the effects on his mother you would get an idea of what I am talking about.
Having lived for several years in Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela I can tell you that you are very right on in your assessment of US foreign policy towards that region. I watched it first hand and would write home to friends telling them not to believe the crap that they would hear at white house press conferences.
The US government is controlled today by interests that care more about their personal fortunes, deals and alliances than the future and security of the USA. Most people aren't interested in investing more time and effort into finding out the truth. That ignorance will eventually lead to the downfall of the USA. At least IMHO...
I suppose we really should move this to another thread or the thread monitor Gods will zap us all...

It carried on longer than my chemically damaged attention span could follow. There's a toll road? I guess pay for it that way or thru taxes. They'll just find something else to tax us for. Anyone get kidnapped lately? Did the new road make for a better escape? But I digress...

Back to the topic CA-125, i think its way too expensive. I got on at Otay Ranch center and it was $4.50 to the border at Otay Mesa. The guy said if you don't have FAST TRACK they charge you the maxium amount because they don't know where you got on.
