Is that true? I grew up in the Tijuana area and never heard that before. I will try it although they do wave my minivan over some times even when I have a green light. I think that one of the agents recognizes me and just likes to flirt. :wink:

I asked a friend who worked as an agent at the border. They told me that the pressure pads just sense that a vehicle has approached and the color light you get is a random thing like at the airport when you push the button for inspection.

I don't know what kind of sensor(s) are used, but an ex-girlfriend worked with the system designer and it is a randomized red light.

They are using pressure pads, which explains why the lights don't work sometimes.


I never trigger them when I cross on my motorcycle...
