I personally prefer the Tiangy or Sobre Rueda in Francisco Villa on Sundays.

This is a more upscale neighborhood and brings higher quality used merchandise.

Plus there is Tacos Los Primos who make awesome Shark Tacos! (ask anyone where they are everyone knows them!

Also in front of the Gigante there is a guy selling goat tacos that are awesome too.

There was a BBQ stand in Playas a year or 2 back roasting whole goats. When completely skinned and without a head it is very hard to tell the difference between a goat carcass and that of a dog. May be the origin of some of those old rumors.

Maybe or maybe they actually made tacos out of dogs.

In some countries dog is a delicacy

QUOTE (richsinc @ Apr 2 2006, 01:02 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Seems me and a couple of other bloggers are moving this month and might be in need of some household items.

I only need some inexpensive furniture like desk, tables, etc. Some may need appliances.

Anyone know where second-hand markets are? Will they deliver?

Thanks

I just moved here and planned to buy things like a microwave, blender, etc. here in TJ but when I checked prices there were ridiculous for the quality so I ended up buying them in Walmart or Target across the border.
I've been surprised at many products including beans, milk, apples, etc. are more expensive here than in the U.S. which explains why so many TJ's cross the border on weekends.

I wouldn't buy anything above $50 here in appliances as the warranty is probably questionable. And Costco prices are not cheap, if you've already checked.

I bought my fridge, Washer and micro all second hand and the Micro was dead on arrival but I was able to return it for a full refund and bought a new one at Walmart.
My fridge and Washer has been running flawlessly and I saved 500 dollars buying 2nd hand instead of new items.

We bought a washer at Fundadores swap meet about 2 weeks ago for $120 bucks. Came with a 6 month waranty, and free delivery and hook up. The very next day, the spin cycle was not working. Called up the guy, he came, picked it up, fixed it and brought it back the very next day. It's been working fine ever since.

I do agree that people try sell their stuff like if it was brand spanking new and in great condition. But if you look, you will find the bargains. There is also a swap meet over behind Plaza Carosel. I found that one while we were driving around, and decided to check it out. So far the swap meets i have been to have great food as well.
