Cops love la Plaza now, back then like 5, 7 years ago, it was my alternative to the scandalous Revu. Everytime I invite out-of-towners down south, I take them to La Cantina De Los Remedios, It's kinda' pricey, especially if you don't keep track of what your consuming, but it's really fun. I think it's mostly for the crowd that allready outgrew baby rock or other discos and just want to chill with their friends listening to live mariachi, drinking tequila and getting smashed. Located across baby rock in Zona Rio. A lot of the youngsters love Porky's in the plaza, I got to go many times when it barely opened, as an alternative to now gone club 5to Patio, I later felt like I was too old for that crowd but for some reason every one looked the same and played the same music. I personally had some bad experiences and heard of other bad stories about Sambuca, also in the Plaza. It seems that Sambuca stayed open after everyone else closed and had cheap drinks, the catch, unwary patrons would get the classic $1 bill switch, take away unfinished beer, overcharged, bring stuff you didn't order, or just plain out try to rob you, as in my case when I got in a drunken brawl with another patron, we were both thrown out and continued to brawl outside. I hanged around after the other brawler left trying to take inventory of my personal belongings, when out of the blue a bouncer/door guy got me in a sleeper hold and tried to empty my pockets. While I was struggling I could feel someone's fingers in my pockets shuffling around looking for something. Good thing a waiter that worked at Porky's was just getting out of work and saw me struggling. Somehow he managed to convince the guy or guys to leave me alone (a good tip goes a long way). I thanked the guy and never went to the Plaza again for almost 5 years.
