In addition, how could any of you be sure that I myself am not Indian? In which case your replies to my simple request to know if there are indian eats in Tijuana, would be consider VERY offensive.. I thought this board was moderated? How could one allow such insulting comments about Indian culture and food?

Sorry for kinda hijacking your thread BP... I got side tracked defending Indian cuisine.

I have never seen an Indian restaurant in TJ... and I have looked. Before my wife got her visa and we still lived in TJ, I wanted her to try it... but the only thing I could do was to bring some from SD. It was still good, and she liked it, but nothing like going and getting it fresh.

I agree 100%... Chicken Tikka Masala is my favorite dish, along with Tandoori chicken, Saag Paneer, Aloo Paratha, Navratan Korma, onion Kulcha... and of corse garlic naan.


Damn... now I'm going to have to get Indian food tonight...

This is true there are a lot of indians around here. In the building where I live, there are more indians than other races. And I've been to a pretty famous one in Jersey City, it wasn't bad. But again, like i said, I'll eat it but am not a fan. TJDave, you want to changes, places. I'll live in San Diego and you can live in NJ? What do you say? Since we're in the same field, I'm sure we can learn each others job eventually.

Okay, I am not sure who ASKED anyone if they loved or hated INdian food- all I wanted to know was if there are any in Tijuana.

I was so excited to see 15 replies, thinking that I would have lots of leads, but instead I got a bunch of uneducated chitter about cooking over cow dung.

Indian food is very specialized and exquisit. If you have never tried it, find a nice sit down Indian restaraunt, order some Chicken Tikka Marsala, Garlic Nan, and rice, you can order it mild, hot, or extra hot. It is to die for. I would never go to a fast food Indian place, and I agree with whomever said they generally don't exist, because it takes time to prepare.

I had just heard that there are people from all over the world here in TJ, and assumed that meant Indians too, and wondered if any of them had started any restaraunts.

I guess the answer is no?

Barbara, a forum is very small community, although there are many members not many people post on a regular basis. For the most part, alot of people just kid around, if everyone only posted specific relevant information, there wouldn't be many post and people wouldn't continue checking the website daily and it would slowly die.

As for the rude comments, of which I am a part of, I apologize on my part. There was no intention to be mean or rude toward indian people or indian food, I think most people here are just trying to joke around. You find that this type of joking around isn't specific to indians but generally everyone if you stick around long enough. Beinvenido.

...........I am nearly 100 percent certain that the only indian food place closed and that was located in Otay.
I know some time ago there was or was going to be another one located in Plaza Pueblo Amigo but not sure if that got started or not.

Si Jorge, but Otay is fairly large. If you can remember a plaza name, a street intersection, or colonia maybe ?

P.S. Need I say that I too am usually a fan of Indian cuisines.
