No, don't close the crossings. The open space between the crossings and also the ocean need to be monitored more closely. It will not cut down on all drug traffic, but will minimize it by a large amount.

The op asked whos fault it is, I stated my opinion on it. Just offering solutions is all. If there are better one's I am open to hearing them.

I'll state my opinion. The topic has been discussed for many years. There are many opinions but there are no solutions. We can only try to minimize the symptoms. I'd rather just roll eyes when people propose the same unworkable ideas over and over and over and over. I'd quote Solomon but it would be redundant.

Sometimes it is just scarey here. Last week my husband and I walked to the store around the corner from where we live. Not more than 200 feet around a corner. When we came out two guys in an old junky looking car asked us if we know someone. They gave a name off a paper, while my husband was talking to them I happened to look into the car and in the seat next to them were two big guns, and one in the back that looked like a machine gun. I started to walk away and my husband followed, he had since them also. They were looking for someone, we did not know them. Gee I could not believe it. Last week the store closed. It has not opened again.

I think there is too much money being made on both sides of the border over the illegality of certain drugs to ever expect politicos or anyone else to come up with workable changes to make life better. How much of an industry is this to the trafficers, the dealers, the weapons manufactures, the arms merchants, the corruption of the law enforcement and judicial systems with bribes, the prison industry, and probably more groups that don't come to mind. The fact that a few people die along the way is just the cost of doing business when you talk about big business. It has been that way in nearly all empires based on political power structures that have it roots in the production of money.

The American public must be resigned to the way things are unless they go through some revolutionary political and economic changes, and the powers that be will not go easily. That will mean more deaths.
