does TJ municepality test their water to its fit for drinking?

i mean , isent that one of main objective of goverment to privide a drinkable water to its people?

my personal feeling is bottle water business is biggest rip off business that i ever known in US since i always been told not to drink water in mexico.

i have been told not to drink water in US when they had mishalps or break in pipeline time to time, not ever as just do not drink water for so many years...lol

The last time I came back from TJ, I found a bottle of San Andres Tequila in my car. Don't really remember where I got it and don't know how it tastes because I can't get the bottle open. Can anyone tell me if it's worth figuring out how to open it?

Haha - never met a bottle I couldn't figure out how to open. If Chiquito's too busy I'll take care of the problem bottle...

I swallowed a mouthful by mistake in the shower like others have said it tastes heavy on the chlorine. The water truck passes by twice a day and it costs 12 pesos for a 5 gallon jug.

(Miggiesmallz- TEXMEX)
My fish swim in it, I make coffee with it, I cook with it, I bathe with it, when brushing my teeth I rinse my mouth with it. I’ve been here three years, so why can’t I bring myself to put ice cubes in a cup and walk over to the sink, fill it up and gulp it down. I just can't. Every "tourist" book I've ever read about Mexico insists on NOT DRINKING THE WATER. My neighbors drink their water, so what's the big deal???? Have I been brain washed??? :?:

i went to the corner market to get the filtered water. 3 pesos.

i hated bathing in it cause since i've been back in the states i've noticed that teh backne that i had is gone. i had to detox big time and i'm clear now. but i think i had to cause of the water, just bathing in it. and when i would wash my face, my eyes would sting as if i just got out of the pool.

i rinsed an apple in reg. water once and had montezuma's revenge-and he was pissed off lemme tell ya-for 2 weeks. missed work and everything.

Tijuana water is treated and sanitized. However, while in the US, "boil water orders" are given whenever a pipe breaks...here pipes just break, and no "boil water order" is given. So 95% of the time you can drink the water, and nothing will happen to you....not even diarrhea, but if you happen to drink when there are breakages in your district (they are rather frequent in some areas), you can get ill.

I have consumed tap water several times here. But just spend 60-90 cents to fill up your 5 gallon jug at one of the many reverse osmosis/filtration places in Tijuana. If it is 2 in the morning and you don't have any more jug water or soda or nothing......drinking a glass of tap water to quench your thirst won't kill you.

But play it safe and fill your culligan jugs.

Brusing your teeth won't do anything bad. The fluoride in the toothpaste probably would be more dangerous than the mouth rinse with tap water.

Had no water from Friday at 6pm until this morning at 4 am. Still no water pressure. These people are so stupid, they had no idea why we had no water. It was only two streets.

Sometimes in water systems they put in a "backwards" check valve. It is set to shut when the flow exceeds a predetermined level sensing that there has been a major break in the line. That can isolate quadrants within a water distribution system without cutting off supply to the entire system. Don't know if CESPT uses them or if that was what happened in your case but is a possible answer...

Baja, I read all of the stuff you write here and wonder how you know so much? Then I look on your profile and I see you are an engineer. You make me remember my grandfather who studied in Mexico City and he become a mechanical engineer for Tijuana. He worked helping the city to come together when the different colonias grow together into one big city. I remember he tells us that it was a big mess underground and that maybe it would be better to tear everything out and start all over again.

I am sorry they are soooooo stupid over their at cespt

They had a leak up the hill from my house and kept comming to my house and demanding to inspect my pila and dig holes to do stain underground flow tests for over a year.

And for over a year I took them across the street and up the hill and showed them where their was a leak flowing out of the ground and into a strom drain.

Finally after 14 months of fighting with them they dug up the spot that I showed them at least 30 times and fixed the leak.

Then they never came back and it has been about 2 years now

Maybe you should clean your house once in a while. Maybe you should take a grammar class too. English is my second language but I think I speak it better than you.
