Yes, Ryu, Mozza is owned by Batali (it was called Ernesto's in the seventies when it was under different management), its on the South West corner of Melrose and Highland in an oh so chic section of Los Angeles, an area that was basically dead until Cher and her Allman Brothers Band front man husband, Greg Allman, started shopping at some funky shops in the area about 1978 or so.(Psst! Milky, pass the word around to the local powers that be -Cher is good for business!!). I digress. Batali's name, and even the names of his cohorts, on the Food Network, are an advertisement itself. What he did with Mozza is focus on all the parts of the pizza, not just the cheese, or the sauce, or import NYC Tap water, like the others. For me, the 2 months was worth the wait, the other actor founded pizza places like those in Beverly Hills aren't worth the box their product is stuffed in. San Diego is supposed to have some fantastic pizza places, if only they would consider their neighbor to the south. Keep searching.

There is a good Pizza Place in the back of Plaza Rio, something like New York Pizza, its better than Mama Mia and There is another good restaurant off Agua Caliente that has excellent thin crust pizza. I will head down next week and get the name. It's located in a plaza to the left coming from the states. It's a higher end place that I never see mentioned.

There is a 2 store pizza restaurant one in Colonia Independencia If you keep going west/south on 9th street from downtown it will be on your left next to an oxxo and across the street from a pemex
The other location is in Colonia Libertad near the church with the two red neon crosses in its twin steeples
I think the name is Giovani's but I will be going there this afternoon and will get the exact name and address
They have great pizzas with any toppings you want.
2 mediums for 75 pesos or 2 larges for 99 pesos
It is not nyc or chicago but it is not thick and doughy either

Vittorios is owned by an Italian woman who lives half time in New York City and half time in Tijuana
I believe she lives here to get away from the winter

I took my kids and the wife to Peter Pipers...wow!!! The pizza was great!!! We had the $30 combo which includes a large pizza with one topping, 4 drinks and 30 or so tokens...a little pricey for TJ in my opinion but it was well worth it...we had a blast!!! If you try it you need to upgrade the pizza to pan pizza for less than $2 more...

My kids love Peter Piper Pizza too (it is a lot like Chuck E Cheese's)
The tokens go so so so fast I always end up spending about $20 usd on tokens and we always get the all you can eat deal so it winds up costing me about $50 total but we can spend several hours there
I don't really like the pizza that much but it is as good as pizza hut or dominoes or similiar so it is edible

I'm sorry if this is a old topic but I'm still on the search for good tasting pizza in Tijuana, the ones i have tried there not that good, the worst ones are from the local SOBRE RUEDAS open market, yuck! they taste like ketchup in a flour tortilla, i have tried some other local like Giuseppe's,Palermo,MammaMia,Toginos and Domino's and Pizza Hut wich close down here in the city, and there all really just taste very commercial pizza,NOT a true slice of tasty pay! i have my self stuck with COSTCO's pizza which has the right size slices and its good if you eat it hot.
I need help if you guys know of any good old fashion pizza place,i like NY style the best!
