Visited Dr. Boagarin last Friday (5/25/12) based on TJ blog reviews. A front tooth cap had come off. Called his office around 8:00 a.m. as I didn't have an appointment. I was told in Spanish I could schedule one for 7:30 p.m. or just come in and wait for an opening.
Took my newspapers and headed down to his office. Waited about two hours before he could see me but I'm glad I did. While his staff speaks Spanish, Dr. Bogarin is bi-lingual and speaks impeccable English.
I was in and out in about 20-25 minutes. Dr. Bogarin worked fast and efficiently and re-cemented my tooth exactly how it was done in the U.S. using a type of florescent light to help harden the cement.
Told him that I heard about him on TJ Blog which he was not aware. At any rate, the total coat was $20. I paid in pesos and they gave the same dollar-peso exchange rate offered by the casa de cambias which are on every street corner.
He did say that I might want to consider a porcelain-to-metal crown for $250 or another type (forgot the name) with no metal for $450. But there was no pressure from him to get this done. He also remarked that I might want to consider returning for a cleaning.
Spoke with some patients while waiting...one couple who travel from Phoenix, AZ to have him do their dental work. Another patient told me that two dentists in El Cajon told her she needed a root canal but that, after examining her that morning, Dr. Bogarin said she did not need one.
Needless to say I was impressed by the good doctor and will return in the future if I am unfortunate enough to require dental work.
