Actually, if you really live in Tijuana and have an ID with a local address, you can get a 32% discount card. You need to ask for it and they will ask you for a copy of the ID and a credential size photo. It's supposed to be free.

Otherwise, with no discount card, Gusher is a little expensive. Look for a "La+Barata" -or "La Mas Barata"- (wich stands for "the cheaper"), or a "Farmacia Milenio"... they also have good prices.

If you like La Vienesa, there is also La Vienesa Rio, wich is on Zona Rio, like half a block from City Hall, on Av. Independencia, and very easy to get ther from the U.S.

I am working in TJ today. One of my employees took me to his favorite reaturant Mexicano Restaurante. It is about a 4 or so minute drive from The Rock disco west and a little north. Their were 4 or 5 different soups stewing about five feet away from me. I ordered carne asada and it came with soup and rice pudding. The food was really good. They have specials every day. Today was a breaded chicken pounded flat. I saw them cooking some up after I ate and I almost wanted to stay and order it. Our bill came to 200 pesos for the both of us.


Hi, I think I know that place. It's very close to Zona Rio but not in it. It's actually on a street called Miguel Aleman, between the north bound road from Ensenada to Tijuana and Guillermo Prieto.
