Housing Needed - 1 person, long-term

06 January 2011 - 05:17 PM

I'm truly excited about moving to the TJ area.
I'm looking for housing for 1 person - $400/mo to $600/mo (possibly more, but only for something ultra-special)
-Garage required (or locked/gated parking)
-Patio or garden area which receives significant daytime sunlight
-Away from party people, night time pool parties, etc
-Sorry, not so much looking for an all-American enclave
-Adjacent to some dirt path or dirt road (i run but am old and need soft surfaces for running)

-I'm coming to tj soon. Anyone have any neighborhoods to suggest, based upon the above. I'm comfortable walking around neighborhoods and just looking for "For Rent" signs, if i know where to walk. I speak passable Spanish. An old lady, I'm nonetheless more than a little street smart.

I'm not at all experienced at posting on sites like this, so hope i'm doin' it right. the world's such a complicated place smile.gif

Cannabis in Mexico - is Tijuana 420-friendly

06 January 2011 - 03:26 PM

Hola!   I'm a medical mmj patient, currently living in northern cali.  I want to move to the Tijuana/Rosarito area (looking for an apartment/condo/casita).  I am unwilling to discontinue cannabis use (I would then be forced back onto pharmaceuticals, with all their lovely side effects).   Could anyone tell me how the police and military in TJ and BC in general deal with cannabis users of the boring variety?  Anyone know of current pricing for cannabis?

Demented Old Woman on way to TJ

06 January 2011 - 03:08 PM

Hi All - By way of introduction, i'm a demented old washed-up high-tech cast-off. Mind's gone. Humor's weird. I want to move (within the next month or so) to TJ. I've been there a lot, but don't know the 'hoods. Ideally, I want a place where i will be able to go out the door and run for a few miles on a surface which is neither concrete nor sand. Dirt is good. It would also be nice if i wouldn't be attacked by 27 dogs whilst running on this dirt trail, but that's something i'll deal with if only i find the apartment/casita with the adjacent dirt trail.
Are there any dirt roads in La Playas or is all paved? Any Otay neighborhoods to recommend? I've very flexible.
Don't need night clubs, gyms, suanas, fireplaces, pools, large apartment complexes.
Also, i am in california a legal mmj patient. I would appreciate any information as to how simple possession of cannabis is handled by law enforcement in TJ -- do they care? I know prohibition is pretty much lifted in mexico, but sometimes old ways die hard.

Thanks to all for setting up this TijuanaBlog.
