Hello, everyone. I am moving to Tijuana around August 1st, plan on renting for about a year as I save for a down payment on a condo here in San Diego. While browsing a few online property rental sites, I've found that many (and in some cases, most) property sale prices are listed in USD. I've heard various takes on the legal/not legal issue regarding home ownership in Mexico, and am wondering if anyone here can give me a quick and basic take on whether or not it is possible for a single, unmarried American to purchase a home in TJ?
I was referred to this site by another site, and am planning on making the move to TJ August 1st-ish. I plan on living south of the border for about a year or so to save money for a down payment on a home here in San Diego, although I will (naturally) be keeping my job here in the city! So yep, I'm here to read every thread in the "Living in TJ" section for moving advice, utility/cable advice, transit advice, and "not getting my shit jacked" advice.
So far everything I read is excellent. Love the site!
