This morning I sent the El Taller link that Otay Bill posted in his initial post to the girl who said this place looked like a dump from the outside Sunday night.  She just sent me a text telling me she looked at the link and said we can go eat there tonight......jajajajjaa  Don't they tell you never judge a book by it's cover.  I don't know maybe that saying does not translate over in Mexico  laugh.gif   I will report back on how it goes........

El Taller is excellent and I recommend it highly. Excellent menu - with killer gourmet pizzas. Full bar, and very good wine list.

Been there three times. Made the mistake of going the last time on a Sunday, and they were closed. Went next door to La Taverna de Espana.

El Taller is excellent! Great pizza, and if the same bartender is there, he does some great flair spinning and tossing bottles.

I have been there a couple of times for lunch. Good food, nice service and great value. Place was pretty much empty both times...

In Topic: Looking for Hotel near Macroplaza

The Villa Dorado is right off the Via Rapida heading back towards the border. Pretty close to Macroplaza. The Motel Via is also fairly close. Both are the deluxe love-type hotels, but I assume you can book 24-hour stays there with in and out privileges (no pun intended).

Otherwise, some decent motels near UBC and the Airport in Otay.

They will probably tell you to remove the tinting. Plus, TJ cops are known to pull over cars with heavy tinting, so why risk it?
