I'm trying to find out who holds the title of the building where I live. I have reason to believe it's not the person who rents me the apartment. Do you know where to find this, or even the name of the office is? I was told it's possible to do this online, which would be remarkable. Pardon me if this is the wrong forum.

My American landlord in Tijuana was cool and easy when I moved in, but he has been acting strange: threatening to charge me extra fees etc, and after some months he started on about rights ang privileges, all without a lease. My neighbors tell me that he doesn't hold the title to the property, that it's in the name of his girlfriend or business partner. How can I find the name of the title holder? I'm told that it's public info, that there's a municipal office that matches names to titles; also that this info is available on the internet. I don't want to mess with a lawyer, it's probably not worth it. Any advice matching a name to a title? Best of all on the Internet.
