First thanks for everyone who has contributed to this blog it is helpful!

My name is Shane i am a gringo in my mid 30's, and I am looking to move to the Tijuana area around the 12th of Feb.  
I stayed in Rosarito for a few months back in 2000 but now I'm older thinking I can do without the young party scene well i guess not much of a scene with all the hype about crime..

Reason's for the move are many.

Ive always wanted to learn Spanish and travel around Mexico, either i'm dumb or the Rosetta Stone method just does not work for me I need total immersion.
Economy sucks in the US I have just recently unloaded my house in the states.   aka short sale heck Times are tough.
Need a some dental work why pay US prices.
I  make no where near what I once did but now have been making a living 100% online for the last year and figure why not try TJ for 6 months to see if I like it.
earning dollars but think they will go much farther in MX.
