My first computer was a Tandy TRS80 running CPM. Next was a network at work that ran business basic.

My first IBM/IBM compatible was a Corona (later Cordata) "lugable." It had an Intel 8088 chip and 10mb hard drive, which was huge in those days as many PC still only had two floppy drives.

Did it run CPM? My Trash 80 ran trDOS had a tape drive as well as Floppy! I was a computer pimp as a kid... cool.gif

Got an IBM AT after running an 8088 chip, swapped out the Motherboard for a 268 chipset and had a 10meg MFM Harddrive.
After a while put a 386 innards in same computer case.. Hit the bigtime after that got a Gateway2000 colorbook 486sx only sx as I could not afford the math co-processor, Pentium 60, than a 90, 200 and finally a 200mmx, had a dual pentium pro server, went to a sun solaris sparc for a while, back to VA linux servers and now all I have is a Dell d620. I have officialy retired from UNIX on the desktop still run a asterisk server and a webhost on centOS.

Savvy, I agree with richsinc you speak of Equity in a home well the simple answer is if you run out of cash and have equity in your home it will do you no good.. What is equity going to get you? not a loan, not food, not gas, not water. I commend you for saving up 10k but what I would do is go open a Bank of America account put your 10k in it and get a check card and rent in Mexico for a minimum of 6 months. You can access you cash free in Santadar Atm's and get a great exchange rate.

“Hi Richsinc. I appreciate your direct honesty. I was thinking of buying because I would like to own a piece of property in case my operating income runs out, I would have some equity saved up. What area would you recommend that is somewhat safe and inexpensive? I will be meeting with the RE agent this saturday to look at someplaces, but I don't think they are charging me. I would really appreciate it if you can help me find a place, or if you know of someone who can show me around that would be great. “

No problem. Direct? Yes! Honest? Yes! I ain’t gonna pee on your leg and try to tell ya, it’s raining.

For you and the two ladies looking lately, I whole-hearted suggest renting and looking around and learning the city better before investing capital in a purchase. If you want your capital available, DO NOT tie it up in real estate; ever watch the news and see how many people have all their capital in real estate and CAN NOT get it out??? I can’t believe you are an accountant, as I am speaking as one.

I personally would not make a good tour guide around Tijuana; been to Revo, Zona Rio plaza area, Norte and a few other places. I am just not into Mexican culture a whole lot; sure different from when any time off in Europe would be spent in my car; just my shaving kit and me. I stick in my area north of the river close to border, Pueblo Amiga, Ley area, in the Infonovit there which is extremely convenient. Always places for rent, $300-600; some for sale. I have 2 BR, full kitchen, shower. Dish washer comes in on fridays. Aux. Policia nightly. Great upper middle class families; lots of kids playing.

Think you and maybe that new guy Shane should rent a two bedroom and check things out first.

Is this the first time you had $10,000 in the bank? Why do you want to GAMBLE it?

A fool and his money are soon departed.........

I know the economies of US and MX suck and I think will get worse before better, but is my perception correct all you guys out there that there are more 'gringos' moving here to save $$$???

Making money on line sounds good to me; tell me more.  I do not think people would pay to see me nude   unsure.gif

The only nude pay per view service I could provide would be a reverse pay per view where I would have to pay people to see me nude.   cool.gif
