Has anyone had this happen? She's retired, lives here in TJ (and has for almost a year), crosses a couple of times a week. She just crossed and they told her her pass had been suspended but wouldn't tell her why, just that she had to come to an appointment to discuss it in a couple of weeks. Her license, regi, and insurance are all current. She hasn't had any changes to where she lives, no arrests, nothing. Does anyone have any idea what might have happened and why? Do I have to worry about my pass since hers has been suspended? (I'm pretty sure she put us on her application as references or something like that). My husband went through this morning (got secondary, but it was the quick "show us your paperwork/have a nice day" secondary) without issues and as far as I know, so did my sister (who lives with my mom).
My mom's Sentri pass suspended.

Adding: I just talked to her and apparently my sister was with her and got her card back. Very weird.

My sister got her card back. They took my mom's. She has an appointment for the 18th and I told her to call to see if there's anything she's supposed to bring, so maybe that will give her an indication of what's going on.

This happens all the time esp. if they find out you live in TJ and cross often. I know several people who live in TJ and had this happen because (I guess) they are crossing too many times.

There are lots of people that live in TJ and cross the border often, that shouldn't have anything to do with it. The idea of having it is to make your border crossing easier, and I don't think there's a limit on how many times you can cross the border with it.

Yeah, that crossing too much is theory is crap. Eclipse stated her mother only crosses a few times a week. I know people who cross at least once a day, sometimes more.
I used to tell agents I was just visiting my GF, but now days I just tell them I live here. They can see how often I cross so "just visting" would lack credibility. I am also fairly certain they record your reason. An agent once confirmed "Resident?" as she stroked some keys.

I just wanted to give an update on this. My mom went to her meeting today. Apparently, her front license plate had been stolen or fallen off and she hadn't noticed. They said she can have her pass back once it's fixed. I have no idea why they wouldn't tell her that when they took the pass in the first place.

Sounds like she just encountered an asshole running the lane she used that day. Unless there's a policy that they're not allowed to tell the person why their pass is being confiscated, seems like common curtosy to tell someone about the missing plate.

No, it is MUCH more effective to create a sense of stress and have the person wonder what the heck is going on. NOT!
Give some people a little power and they run with it. Glad it will be straightened out for her. Sentri passes rule!!!

The CBP is the door greeter to the USA. I wish foreigners who enter, don't believe we are all like that. Funny, maybe not, you can see a poster of the CBP smiling as you enter, but I, myself have never experienced it. Sentri card holder, USA Veteran.
