I am thinking of a little facial nip and tuck and wondered if anyone had any recommendations, either personally or via friends, for a surgeon in Tijuana (or Rosarito, for that matter). Thanks for any help.

I would be VERY CAREFUL and do a lot of research about selecting a plastic surgeon here in Mexico. I worked in a plastic surgery practice in Houston years ago and a large percentage of our patients were Americans and Mexicans who had surgery done in Mexico and needed extensive corrections so be careful. Plastic surgery is one of those surgeries that you don't want to pay the lowest price as the result is very difficult to correct. I would select someone from actual recommendations from several people who have had actual surgery. The private hospital practices such as Hospital Angeles will be more reputable as they are accustomed to dealing with foreign patients.

Yes, Mary Ellen, which is precisely why I made this post. Not for admonishment of being careful, which I of course would be, as I am very familiar with the medical field and worked in it for many years. I have direct and personal recommendations for places further way such as where I am temporarily staying now in Mazatlan as well as Guadalajara. I was hoping for DIRECT recommendation from EXPERIENCE closer to home. Thanks for your concern.

A good friend of mine has had a couple procedures done here and is very happy with the results...
(he had bags removed from under his eyes)

Dr. Buenrostro

He is one of the more expensive one's in TJ, from what I've heard.

Like it's been stated previously... I would not shop for bargains when looking for Plastic Surgeons, OR shopping for Lasik...
Two things you really don't want to screw up, how the world sees you and how you see the world... JAJAJA.

Good luck!

Those areas you mentioned such as Guadalajara are areas with higher incomes than here at the border (in case you haven't noticed) so you will find more people who've had that type of surgery than here at the border. Perhaps there are good PS in Mexicali (which has a more affluent population than here).

I also know someone who had plastic surgery done by Dr. Buenrostro who had good results.

The #1 nose job specialist in town is Dr. Arturo Gonzalez.
